Katharina Kiel president of the new model of Frauen Bundesliga was recently talking about future investment and says.... DFB proposal was to invest 60M year for 1st and 2nd division, which would lead 6 figures in euros for each club. With the new league model, they expect 100M just for 1st division on it's own...
They really need a real left wing option... but Sternad's 3 goals, 5 assists, has to take a significant leap forward if this transfer actually happens.
Top 5 wingers for chances created... 1. Bühl 2. Huth 3. Baum 4. Dallmann 5. Sternad. Top 5 wingers for BIG chances created... 1. Bühl 2. Huth 3. Bender 4. Dallmann 5. Bussy/Baum Top 5 wingers for successful dribbles... 1. Zicai 2. Schimmer 3. Bühl 4. Bender 5. Baum Top 5 winger for assists... 1. Bühl 2. Huth 3. Sternad 4. Dallmann 5. Bender Top 5 wingers for goals scored... 1. Bussy 2. Bühl 3. Dallmann 4. Schimmer 5. Bender Bender and Baum have had quietly effective seasons... one of them could be ready to take another step next season..
Frankfurt in a 4-4-2 don't look as compact, but actually have a more dynamic attack... Mühlhaus has had the most shots on goal of any player this season, and top 3 in chances created. So i want to know how she's supposed to function in a team Freigang still exists... If they manage to keep Anyomi, maybe they could look like this... Memeti -------- Anyomi -------- Blomqvist --------- Mühlhaus ------ Freigang ----------- ------------------------ DM ------------------------- But its good to see Arnautis finally try something beyond the diamond system which has clearly reached it's limit.
Mala Grohs will leave Bayern 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒖𝒔 & 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒆, Mala! ❤️🤍Nach sieben Jahren im Trikot der FC Bayern Frauen wird Mala Grohs die Münchnerinnen im Sommer verlassen. Zum Saisonende findet ein gebührender Abschied statt.ℹ️ https://t.co/jtgXF8AgOH pic.twitter.com/GNyoro7k30— FC Bayern Frauen (@FCBfrauen) May 5, 2026
Bayern's defeat in Barcelona should wake them up to the importance of signing another real DM options for next season... Senß being linked to Real Madrid, should be a moment Bayern look to intercept the deal before it happens... At least 4 new players should be brought to Bayern this summer... if it was me... ------------------- Harder/Imade --------------------- Bühl/Dunst -------------------- Dallmann/Kaneryd ---------------- Tanikawa/Alara ------------- ---- Oberdorf/Wrede ----- Zadrazil/Senß --- Kett/KN --------------------------------- Gwinn/Wamser ------ GVP/Eriksson ---- Gilles/Ballisager --------- I think Grohs understands Mahmutovic is a future Germany #1, and needs to create a pathway of her own somewhere new. Caruso and maybe Naschenweng also talented players who should probably be starting for a rival UWCL team. But more depth is needed to get Bayern over the finish line in Europe. Wamser, Senß, Kaneryd, would all be relatively cheap, and fix key flaws with the roster, while Wrede a free transfer who possess all the potential to be a legit super star. A Bayern with real possibilities to rotate the team and maintain a very high level in the UWCL, would be the moment this team posses the tools to reach a final. ---------- Tanikawa ---------- Oberdorf -------- Zadrazil Being able to rotate between..... ------------- Alara -------------- Wrede ---------------- Senß Bayern would have a mid-field of elite ball winners, and technical goal scorers, with a balance of technical ability and athleticism to go head to head with any mid-field. Add a real winger to the attack, possessing the ability to run with the ball over long distances, this becomes another weapon that can help change the trajectory of games where counter attacking needed. The mistake Bayern could make though, is going for higher profile signings, who don't actually fix or resolve flaws, instead creating new problems. One of these potential problem signings being Nüsken; this a player who would cost a large fee, and not resolve any of the issues Bayern will have trying to replace Stanways high quality progressive passing. .
@Lohmann not sure if it’s been posted already, but I’ve read something that 700 million Euros will be invested in the Bundesliga. There’s also going to be a minimum wage which will finally gear it up to a fully professional league. If it’s true, it would an amazing benefit to the league as well help spruce up participation rate in Germany for woso I guess the question the would be where is this money coming from? & will it be divided equally between clubs?
Bayern - Hoffenheim 1:1(0:1) Eriksson(89) - Cerci(41) 1.Bayern 68 87-9 2.Wolfsburg 52 65-35 Freiburg (A), Nürnberg (H) 3.Frankfurt 48 61-39 Bayern (A), Union (H) 4.Leverkusen 43 42-32 Leipzig (A), Bremen (H) 5.Hoffenheim 42 46-30 Union (A), Leipzig (H) 6.Bremen 37 32-35 7.Freiburg 33 41-41 8.Köln 31 31-36 9.Union Berlin 30 40-45 10.Leipzig 27 38-45 11.Nürnberg 19 29-59 Essen (H), Wolfsburg (A) 12.Hamburger SV 18 25-54 Köln (A), Bayern (H) 13.Essen 15 21-59 Nürnberg (A), Freiburg (H) 14.Jena 11 22-62
League stats from the German players; Sydney Lohmann played 9 matches for 172 minutes 0 goals/1 assist Rebecca Knaak 14 matches for 1432 minutes 2 goals/0 assists 21 league games played = possible 1890 minutes per position times that by 11 = 20,790 Lohman’s contribution to the club in terms of playing time was .8 percent(sadly couldn’t even make it to an full one percent
Lohmann was responsible for 22 points - without her they wouldn't qualify for Champions League. And 1 assist in 172 minutes is 11 and a half assists per season. Most from any other player in WSL is 7. Jule Brand has just 3 assists in 866 minutes - nearly 290 minutes for an assist.
Seeing more transfer rumours surrounding Cerci bring out the standard poorly informed ignorance from WSL fans... Paulina Krumbiegel could be set for a move back to Germany, potentially joining Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer. Bidas has announced her intention to leave Bayern at the end of the season. This honestly one of the more obvious Bayern departures. Anyomi also sustained a muscle injury Vs Nürnberg, and will be out for the foreseeable future; which of course means she'll miss the few remaining games of the league season.
It feels like Arsenal are trying to last minute hijack Union Berlin's deal for Cerci... something I've said Bayern should be doing right now to stop Senß joining Real Madrid... However, the main problem with this Cerci news, mainly involves the nature of Arsenal's true intentions for why they suddenly want another striker for their team that already includes Blackstenius, and Russo...? Ignorant WSL fans only watching highlights of Germany's wnt, appear to believe Cerci just another mediocre winger lol; confusing her league leading goal contribution as indictment of the 1.Bundesliga's suuposed mediocrity.. So... if Arsenal's intentions are to aggressively hijack Union Berlin's deal, forcing a last minute theft of a German wnt winger from joining a significantly lower profile club... I think there's going to be a lot of disappointed Arsenal fans next season lol. Cerci's a striker... a very mobile striker, but still best used as a central striker, who's very comfortable creating chances on her own, or being a traditional #9 who plays with her back to goal waiting for her team mates to supply good service. The fact outsiders will watch Germany's wnt, and think Cerci, or Wamser, in any way international level wingers is amusing.... But also slightly concerning thinking Cerci's club form could have zero influence on her potentially moving to last seasons UWCL winners lol...
I already know the lack of international exposure for the 1.Bundesliga, really impacts the perceived value of German talent, and the best foriegn talents who excel within this league. It's very apparent right now, whoever plays for the wnt instantly gains more interest from rival leagues, with little to no regard of their actual club form (even the Bundesliga's UWCL clubs). Hoffmann with a career season high of 11 goals, clearly isn't elite, but gets selected for the wnt and magically has Manchester United chasing her, before she eventually joins Wolfsburg lol... I genuinely wonder what happens to the leagues best talents once this new break away competition starts, and more nations gain get easier access to view game... Do the prominent vultures around Europe become even more agressive when it comes to stripping talents aways from German clubs if we see a higher profile German domestic league...?
Right now the dumbest opinions discussing Cerci's game are currently being spread online by WSL fans... And I have to ask... beyond the clout of joining a prominent club, I can't really understand why Cerci would choose Arsenal, when it very clear they aren't going to use her as a #9... Everything I understand about this potential transfer, is for Cerci to join Arsenal as a replacement for one of Mead, or Foord; both these players being wide forwards within Arsenal's system. This doesn't make any sense....
Cerci factually Germany's best domestic striker for the past 2 years seasons, followed by Anyomi #2, and then Schüller #3. While Kössler stupidly ignored by the wnt, even though she obviously #4 if she's compared to Hoffmann, or Martinez. Yet Cerci remains a massively underrated #9 outside of Germany, who's been in the most need of finding the right Club to provide a platform to finally prove her value on the elite stage. Age 26, never establishing herself at the heart of an elite championship level team, coaches continue to associate Cerci with her strong dribbling stats, refusing to acknowledge how strong the rest of her qualities are as a striker. And yes, elite wingers/wide forwards are hard to find for the top clubs... but if Aresenal were looking to discover strong wnt level German wingers, how did they ever allow Endemann to join a significantly worse Liverpool...? Cerci joining Arsenal to compete against Blackstenius for match time would make far more sense; even if it means Cerci initially facing life stuck to Arsenal's bench. But knowing how the wnt coaches are always looking for any excuse to leave Cerci out of their final WC plans, it sounds ridiculous to believe she competes with Bühl, Brand, Endemann, Baum, Zicai, Bender... And whats even worse here... is thinking how Germany lose Cerci as their best lone striker option for the WC, in exchange for the team to get Hoffmann, or Martinez, having a clear path to the final roster...
LOL... I just noticed, looking at Sofascores average team rating, Hoffenheim are ahead of Wolfsburg at #2.., even though their real league table placement has them #5. Domestic Top strikers... #1 Cerci #2 Fudalla #3 Anyomi. This season Anyomi's 7.48, has her rated higher than Cerci's 7.44. Top foriegn strikers... #1 Harder #2 Janssen #3 Blomqvist. Janssen a huge surprise, Kramer a huge disappointment. It also noticeable Beerensteyn has really fallen off hard, while Blomqvist produced a strong end to the season. Also needs to stated, Popp not even playing as much as she would have hoped, is still very clearly a world class player, and shouldn't be anywhere near 2.Bundesliga, or the regional league's... it's honestly going to be unfair next season lol. Lisa Doorn has had a highly impressive under the radar season for Hoffenheim too. Within Hoffenheim's 3-5-2, the Dutch defender consistently one of the leagues performers.
Foriegn Watch... Man City are finally confirmed WSL champions. Knaak and Lohamann with very different levels of contribution towards this accomplishment both first time English champion. Nüsken would start as a sub for Chelsea, entering the game at HT when it already won, to maintain the 1-3 lead and strengthen their hold over 2nd place. Martinez not featuring at all for West Ham, presumably due to injury. Her team won, and were already safe from relegation. Kössler didn't score this time, but would play 77 mins of her teams injury time 3-2 defeat. Her team one of the weakest in the league, I'm still surprised she doesn't provide more assists. I thought I'd also mention Marie Müller is finally back to full health playing for Portland Thornes, and would actually score on a prior match day in her teams 2-0 victory. Müller previously impressive enough at u23 wnt level to recieve a senior wnt nomination, but getting injured, she'd miss most of her first season in America. So it will be interesting to see if she'll be reintroduced to the u23's, or still be considered a senior level FB candidate...
while I wish Cerci would stay & would think it be another big blow to the Bundesliga, can’t blame her if she did move to Arsenal if it comes with an way bigger salary & with the world wide prestige that club got, obviously bigger marketing & endorsements potential than let’s say Union Berlin can offer. Man City’s Mary Fowler just signed an $10 million contract with Nike…. And her stats about the same as Lohmann’s. So the potential to make way more money is there. I noticed English people are crazy about wearing club jerseys—and if I understand, players get a cut on the profits if their name’s on it. Plus Arsenal now looks like it’s going to qualify for next season’s Champions League. on the other hand, Arsenal still got Russo, Blackstenius & Ayegang at the #9, but their getting rid of wingers Mead & Kelly. So makes me feel maybe Cerci going instead for those r-winger spots as a way to improve her chances with Wuck on making starter for the NT at that particular position. I guess my problem would be will her playing time & stats decline in the WSL as we’ve seen happen to Schuller & Lohmann? But the Bundesliga has to take a major blame for paying their players weaker salaries as to why so many top German players leaving the league. Dunno much about the new proposed changes, but what the league desperately needs an billionaire like Michelle Kang who gave Trinity Rodman an $2 million contract to stay in the NWSL rather than move to the WSL
I feel like Leverkusen should have tried to get Schimmer, but getting Sternad is a clear sign Leverkusen actually understands their need for more winger depth. Very raw, and needing to showcase better end product, Sternad still one the leagues top players for making dribbles into the oppositions penalty box.
Fölmli joining Hoffenheim further confirms Cerci's exit. But now I'm seeing Arsenal are rumoured to be offering Foord a contract extension... Soooo... beyond Cerci personally pushing for this deal to happen due to her being a long time Arsenal fan, it's not clear this club have a true understanding of what they need, Vs who Cerci actually is as a player... Cerci is an efficient striker. 65 shots, 27 of those shots on target, for 16 goals, while playing for a Hoffenheim side who generates less attempts than Union Berlin, Leverkusen, and Frankfurt. The idea Arsenal have seen Cerci playing for the wnt as a wide forward, and come to the conclusion she'd make a legit addition to their wings, is honestly baffeling lol... If Cerci joins Arsenal, for her sake, I hope it's to compete with Blackstenius for match time within a strikers role.
