If Fölmli could stay healthy, the WSL vultures would have already consumed another one of this leagues young Swiss internationals... I couldn't understand when Wolfsburg stupidly decided to take Xhemaili from Freiburg, and ignore the obvious higher quality player in Fölmli... Looking at all the injuries though, regardless of talent, I don't see how she would have had any effect within any stronger teams over the past few years. However... If she ever gets a prolonged period of health though... which ever club she's contracted to will have a high quality forward within their squad
Hoffenheim improved once Lerch left for Wolfsburg... and looking around the league this season, there appears to be a host of superior coaches blatantly doing a better job with less talent too. So... will Wolfsburg do the right thing, and actually seek to upgrade their head coach..? Because after Stroot, it was always a sign of ZERO ambition returning back to Lerch...
FT: Wolfsburg Vs Essen... 1-1.. Lerch version of Wolfsburg are an incredibly tactically poor team...; which is crazy when this was also an issue with Stroot, but never to this level of low IQ football. As a team they can't press AT ALL, their not compact in any way, and are completely dependent on individual quality or pure chaos to score goals lol... Breaking down a low block typically the test of how good a team is coached, it's telling Wolfsburg will often appear completely devoid of the correct ideas, or creative patterns of play. Plus seeing this a team conceding an unbelievable amount of goals for a UWCL level club, there's no way Lerch should be allowed to continue in his role beyond this season... LOL... Popp was even arguing with the home fans during extra time. That's how bad this is now.
Kellermann also needs to questioned here... as he had no interest in replacing Stroot, and allowed a mediocre Lerch to return to the club after accomplish nothing with Hoffenheim... Goals scored way down, goals conceeded gone up, general quality of play way down, with some recruitment choices looking highly suspect too... The core of a potentially strong Wolfsburg is actually at the club right now, making this regression even more confusing/worse. And if this continues, this club could actually end up losing some of this newly assembled spine to various rival clubs, who might not even have UWCL football next season.
HSV are leading 0-2 away from home Vs Hoffenheim... and they should honestly have 3 or 4 goals to show for their surprisingly impresive 45 min performance... HSV using a 4-4-2, but neither winger really playing like wingers. And their system has completely overrun Hoffenheim's 3-5-2. New signing Linberg with both goals... i can only imagine how annoyed Essen must feel about this after their draw Vs Wolfsburg lol.
0-4 HSV victory..., and it should have seen even more goals scored by HSV too. Tactically, the home team had no answer for HSV's version of a 4-4-2, and it resulted in HSV producing an incredibly one sided beat down of a 3rd place chasing Hoffenheim. Again... Wrede would also star for HSV, but this time in a game new signing Linberg would help HSV's good play finally generate legit end product. And I don't know if it's not already clear to everyone seeing Wrede play... but it has to be constantly repeated that regardless of what the pre game team sheet says, age 17 she's the BEST domestic CM in the league this season... I don't know if HSV will be able to produce another 90 mins as dominate as this over the remainder of the season. But if they can repeat the confidence, I don't see why they can't gain a few more critical points to survive relegation...
Come WWC finals, if the wnt could ever get Wrede in the same mid-field as Oberdorf.... The condition of wnt level mid-field options has deteriorated significantly with all the early retirements and injuries. But looking at league form, thinking what the wnt needs... AM: Mühlhaus - Fudalla - Bender, clear choices, with Alara a future prospect when she returns to health... (and finds a new club to play..) CM: Nüsken - Piljic - Wrede, Wrede the most gifted, but also the least experienced. Piljic the option who could be most likely swaped for someone who better fits Wück's plans. DM: Gräwe - Senß - Diehm - Minge, Minge only included here because the coahces decided to make her a Co Captain. This the most competitive midfield positional depth for anyone to gain starts. A future return of Oberdorf has me believe she no longer be considered a DM at Bayern, but be allowed to return to her CM/AM roots. Leaving me to think it has to be time for the wnt to intergrate new CM options into the plans for WC qualification. Senß, Nüsken, Brand, an almost unacceptable trio given their respective club form, and overall skill sets...
Wolfsburg - Essen 1:1(1:0) Bussy(4) - Touon(48) Jena - Frankfurt 1:4(0:2) Gora(87) - Reuteler(4,31,90+1), Anyomi(47) Hoffenheim - Hamburger SV 0:4(0:2) Linberg(18,33), Wrede(54), Hillebrand(69) 2.Bundesliga Ingolstadt - Andernach 3:2 Frankfurt II - Mainz 2:0 Mönchengladbach - Bayern II 1:3 Warbeyen - Meppen 1:4 Wolfsburg II - Bochum 1:3 Viktoria Berlin - Stuttgart 0:0 1.Stuttgart 36 2.Sand 35 (1 match less) 3.Meppen 33 (1 match less) 4.Mainz 28 5.Bochum 27 6.Andernach 26 7.Ingolstadt 26 8.Viktoria Berlin 25 9.Bayern II 20 10.Potsdam 17 (2 matches less) 11.Wolfsburg II 16 12.Mönchengladbach 15 (1 match less) 13.Frankfurt II 14 (1 match less) 14.Warbeyen 6
Foreign Watch.... Schüller played her 1st full 90 mins for Man Utd during their 2-1 win. And during this 90 mins, Schüller would manage, ZERO shots.. Lohmann feels like she's practically retired now. And this as she's supposedly healthy enough to play, but for Man City coach who can't even be bothered to select her for match day sqauds anymore. Nüsken would would play 83 mins during Chelsea's 2-0 win, and score the games first goal in the exact manner you'd expect too (late run into the box). Martinez played 90 mins for her bottom of the table West Ham, but seems to have had a terrible game in her teams latest defeat. Knaak would see another 90 mins in her teams 6-0 victory. And similar to her u20 WC success as a CB, it appears Jade Rose is a strong enough athlete to offset Knaak's definsive limitations. Brand being the other gaurenteed German title winner this season, managed to feature over the full 90 mins of Lyon's comfortable cup victory; Brand yet again contributing very little...
Seeing the highlights of HSV's victory, really doesn't showcase the level of dominance they as a team held over Hoffenheim for 90 mins. But what these highlights do manage to reveal is how much Diehm was completely removed from being able to positively effect anything for her team. In a season Diehm has been one of the league best defenders/Mid-fielders from her unique DM pivot position, a bottom dwelling HSV would reduce her to a complete non factor. One poor performance in an otherwise strong individual season shouldn't be able to decide the fate of any player. But damn... it felt like I was witnessing Deihm being routinely exposed Vs HSV, and I'm not sure what that means right now... Compared to the other German DM's in this league, playing in a very unique role for her club, it could easily be said Deihm has been protected having 2 CB's next to her, and another CM in front of her. So can Diehm really play at a higher level as a tradional DM within a 3 player mid-field, and do this with elevated speed and efficiency...? Gräwe, Senß, Piljic, Zdebel, Felde, Minge, all tasked with far more difficult defensive duties than Diehm at club level, with it clear Diehm has issues making recovery runs too. And the way HSV would pull her out of position, exploit errors, and force her to lose recovery battles, has me more cautious about Deihm being moved up from the u23's...
what again gets me(over these last couple weeks) is that ‘white people are not build all the same’ there’s some countries out there that can produce stronger & better athletes—and I ain’t talking about Germany! But more specifically Holland or/and Scandinavia. I mean HOF/HAM match was the latest example where an unknown Norwegian name Limborg dominated the game in her very first time playing in the Bundi. This goes along with other notables like two Icelanders are the leading scorers of their respective Bundi clubs or how half of the starters of the JUV/WOB were Dutch/Scandinavian while arguably Italy’s greatest goal scorer ever, Girelli, couldn’t even get an minute of playing time? Or how about Sweden’s new hotshot, Wallgram outshining Schuller at Man U? and of all things, even though Fromli is from Switzerland, she came in at the 60th minute of thr Freiburg/Berlin & took command with her size & athletic ability—-in comparison the only ones I’ve seen from Germany in the 2020’s with either that athletic physique is Brand & Kuver. so despite being out populated by as much as 10 to 1, why would countries like Switzerland Norway or Sweden be able to produce stronger athletes than bigger countries? To be fair Germany, had diversified a bit with Anyomi. Zicai, Martinez & Baum, but it’s just not enough—-but it just doesn’t seem enough, I just can’t see Germany winning another major tourney unless it rectifies its situation of not having a more athletic players and then the other major issue—lack of money in spend in woso, highlighted once again by the announcer in the Freiburg game when he mentioned that team captain Lisa Karl is still an head detective on Freiburg’s police dept while playing an full season of soccer, so I guess no crime is happening in that city? lol—these clubs need to start paying full time salaries

WOB leading 1-0 at halftime with their only shot on goal they’ve had in the first 45 minutes of play. They are controlling possession by 63-37% and JUV seem comfortable with it as there’s been very light pressure & no real direct attacks.
Wolfsburg leading 0-1 at HT... difference I see right now being a semi competent midfielder like Minge, having the benefit of playing alongside a real CM like Kielland, with Peddamors providing extra protection too. To improve over the 2nd half, Bjelde should be replaced with Wedemeyer, or if healthy potentially even Levels, as Huth doesn't function correctly without a solid FB helping her. The truly selfish entity called Beerensteyn will do everything on her own, making it even more important the mid-field can find Endemann as much as possible. But with limited sub options, this likely as good as it's giing to get for Wolfsburg today.
Bjelde has been bad... Linder on the other side of the field not much better lol... From what they used to be, current Wolfsburg are such a useless representation of the 1.Bundesliga... Collection of individuals just hoping for the best.
JUV finally playing with a sense of urgency in the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half, they’ve come close, but so far no cigar.
