    Alber interview....

Mara Alber: "Werder is still in the cup, and of course we want to go as far as possible
Last year we made it to the final, and repeating that would be fantastic
In the league, we're currently in a UWCL qualifying spot,I wana to help the team maintain that position"

Question: What would you describe as your own strengths?

Mara Alber: "Yes, exactly. I really enjoy dribbling. But I also have a good shot with both my left and right foot, and I think my crosses are quite good too. Those are the three strengths I would mention."

Question: What convinced you most to join Werder?

Mara Alber: "I spoke a lot with Fritzy, whom I already know from the U17 national team We had a good relationship+a successful time there But I also generally liked what I was shown and how the conditions here have developed"

Question: Why did you decide to make this move?

Mara Alber: "Thank you so much, I'm really happy to be here. I wasn't getting much playing time at Chelsea, and to get that, I wanted to go out on loan. Werder sounded perfect to me because the whole package was just right."

"I hope that I can contribute to achieving all the sporting goals and that I can also develop personally, so that I can ultimately make my breakthrough at Chelsea. I thank everyone involved who made this loan possible"

Alber is 100% right to maintain the belief she's good enough to play for any club. But as long as Bompastor remains at Chelsea, Alber needs to wake up to the reality she'll never be wanted at that one particular club.

The fact Kromp has been able to strengthen Werder Bremen's squad with even more player based improvements, highlights the positive path this clubs womens team appears to be taking right now.

Seeing Alber describe her own strengths, once again has me wonder if Chelsea's new coach knows any of this, and just can't see past anything but Alber not being a pure sprinter...:cautious:

And for all the negative Chelsea have done for Alber, whoever at their club allowed Alber to return to 1.Bundesliga and Werder Bremen, clearly wants to see her succeed overall...

If your Hoffenheim your probably the main ones annoyed with this, as Alber could have easily remained on loan with them for another season.

But with the insane disrespect Alber was shown, peaking with her being forced to play for Chelsea's u21 team; it really doesn't matter how this loan period goes... her time with Chelsea should be considered finished.

Stanway leaving has been known for a while... making the bigger issue here being the confirmation she's set to leave for free within the same season Bühl also set to leave for free...:speechless:

Stanway a major part of Bayern's domestic success in the vacuum of Wolfsburg's slow regression, she'll likely be the latest Bayern stand out to be playing in the WSL very soon.

The only positive here is thinking the task Bayern have replacing Stanway might already be solved... just leaving little clarity in understanding how Bayern also replace what Bühl provides offensively...:cautious:

Honestly... if Bayern utilize the talent they still posses in their squad, mid-field should be perfectly fine, just diffrent without Stanway next season.

Without any new additions, names like Tanikawa, Oberdorf, Dunst, Alara, Zadrazil, already strong enough to establish a UWCL level mid-field next season.

    I just don't see how Bayern are meant to replace Bühl will a similar level player...:unsure:;
especially when both wings will need to be upgraded without her being able to compensate for the squads limitations.

Replacing a 20+ goal a season Schüller... OK, we'll see how that goes. But I hope Bayern have a serious plan to lose Bühl, and finally upgrade BOTH wings to help offset the numbers one elite wide player would typically provide them.

If you look at what Stanway actually provides Bayern, it's a very high level of progressive passing, but within a team that requires a lot of possession to be successful.

You look at what Bühl provides Bayern, it's litrally the offensive output of TWO wide forwards/wingers, within a team she rarely finds herself shooting at goal lol...:speechless:

Bayern lose Stanway... a good coach could still select a strong mid-field trio for them next season.

Bayern lose Bühl, I don't care how good their coach is, they won't do anything without recruiting at least THREE strong wide forwards/wingers to replace what they had through Bühl.

We'll need to see Bayern showcase major ambition when it comes to upgrading their attack for next season...:whistling:

Next up... we're still waiting to hear about the futures of Anyomi, Cerci, Wrede, as the 3 players who's talents are openly wanted by numerous clubs.

The contractual situations and rumors surrounding Wolfsburg's interest in Mühlhaus might have changed due to Bremen's new found success.

Rumors surrounding Bayern's interest in Senß and Nüsken, could also become even clearer very soon too; Nüsken needing a transfer fee to leave Chelsea, likely the reason Bayern won't move forward with those negotiations.

Should Senß actually join Bayern, Wrede the player I see headed to Frankfurt, as this would make a lot of sense for the young player, and a club known for further developing young talent.

Between Anyomi and Cerci, I still see Anyomi's skill-set making more sense within Wolfsburg's style of play.

However... reports said Bayern wants Anyomi, even though it's becoming increasingly obvious Harder going to continue pushing rival young forwards out of the club...

Bayern will also need to look towards rival leagues to try and upgrade their wings for next season. I feel like Bühl was meant to leave last season, seeing Brand join instead of heading to France.

Brand's present decisions likely effected by Bühl. No other domestic based wide forward talent currently available, or showcasing consistent form to suggest them moving to a stronger club lile Bayern.

It's interesting seeing Bayern take a chance on a domestic talent like Potsi, knowing she posses a profile of a potentially effective wide forward one day, but requiring more game time and high level training to improve decision making and end product.

Hmmm.... Purtscheller was a name who looked like she should be playing for a top 3 level club.

Purtscheller for two consecutive seasons the wide forward/winger producinh the highest dribbling success rate while playing for a overachieving Essen side.

If healthy... I wonder if we would have heard about rival clubs like Bayern, and Wolfsburg, looking to sign her...?

Soooo, Schüller not even starting for Manchester United today Vs Arsenal...:ROFLMAO:. Straus-ball era really killed this woman's career... wow...:speechless:.

From a 1.Bundesliga, and a international level top scorer, to sitting on the bench behind Damjanovic, Hoffmann, and now Terland.

No injuries, no loss of form causing this to happen... simply one coach deciding they don't like the way you play, and the domino effect carries through to everything else she does... damn.

Maybe the injury which prevented Schüller from taking part in the Nations League Final is the main reason for her not starting for her new club...

Anyway... when she does finally play again, I think age 28 now, entering what should be the prime of her career, there's no more excuses for Schüller not being a starter anymore.

Her new teams 4-2-3-1 style of play, and the general quality of the WSL, should see Schüller able to re-establish her name among one of European footballs most effective forwards.

I just wonder how long it is before she actually gets to play again, because simply being mediocre in the WSL apparently enough to be considered a German wnt player lol...

I might actually try to follow what Kössler does in the NWSL, as she posses traits that could see her surpise people.

But between Cerci, Anyomi, Schüller, Hoffmann, and now Martinez. I feel it important for the wnt see the superior talents of Cerci, Anyomi, Schüller, all find new homes where they can genuinely shine.

Well... Schüller came on as a 2nd half sub for Manchester United Vs Arsenal; game ending 0-0.

The WSL a league Martinez was able to score 10 goals in 12 games last season.... If she's actually healthy enough to play, I would expect Schüller to become an even more prominent scorer.

No inbetween here... high expectations, yes. But this also me knowing current Man Utd forward Terland got 10 goals in 20 games last season.

Meaning a 11/16 league goals a season Schüller has little exuse not to thrive in the WSL, or she's honestly no longer relevant to the wnt...:cautious:

watching currently the Wolfsburg/Eindhoven friendly on YT, all I can say to Batfink be careful what you wish for because his beloved Endermann been turned into an mid….and WOB track record suggests they will keep continuing to do this; switching Germany’s best wingers into different positions & this is why it be ashame if they bought Cerci & probably do the same with her. I got to say though do like watch the French winger named Bussy, though so her relatively small:size, might have an hard time making her own country’s, French NT

Saw some of Wolfsburg's 2-0 winter break victory Vs PSV, and I think I'm even more confused what Lerch wants to see from this team...

No more of the direct transition focused football that brought the club so much success, the 2nd half Vs PSV would even see a transition machine like Endemann playing wide right, frustratingly recieve every pass to her feet lol...

Popp and Beerensteyn clearly unable to play together. Kleinherne - Küver needing to play together. With Peddamors - Lattwein - Kielland, still the best CM trio the current team can select too.

I think Bussy and Huth might be the only players to really thrive within Lerch's new style; but this happening as neither player doing enough to truly justify the clear overall regression to Wolfsburg's attack.

Conceding cheap goals over the first half of the season being a theme for Wolfsburg, not possessing tactics, or the individual fire power to overwhelm opponents anymore, the other theme that makes this version of Wolfsburg a very confusing team to watch.

Does Lerch even know his best 11...? Because I don't see any evidence he's sure about any aspect of this Wolfsburg side...:cautious:

All signs continue to suggest Cerci is joining Wolfsburg, with Anyomi headed to Bayern...:coffee:

Klara Bühl is FAR too important for Bayern to lose...:cautious:.

Before our eyes, she's basically emerging into European women's footballs most effective attacking talent; and should she leave, Bayern can not realistically replace her.

Is it crazy to say Popp is still Germany's best forward...:giggle:

    upload_2026-1-13_16-41-27.jpeg

If Cerci Germany's second best forward, which is exactly what I thought, it actually making her the wnt's true #1 option in a world the wnt exists without Popp.

Kössler's name features prominently on this chart too...:coffee:. Anyomi's poor finishing/inconsistent form seeing her stuck firmly in the middle of the pack.

I still believe Anyomi posses the potential to evolve into a legit international level forward. But right now... Cerci #1, with the wnt coaches selection process nowhere near getting this correct...:(

Beerensteyn might be the most selfish forward I've ever seen in Women's football lol.

Her first instinct completely deviod of any notion/concept of passing, it's honestly not coincidence to see her placed so high on a list of players taking the most attempts in relation to goals scored.

It's funny to think how a slight amount of awareness of others, could genuinely see Beerensteyn become an even better #9, due to the basic concepts of working better with others.

But if Beerensteyn does in fact leave Wolfsburg at the end of the season, again... the idea Cerci becomes her replacement appears to make a lot of sense...:whistling:
