And it needs to be mentioned again... Klara Bühl is ELITE! In a team who posses little ability to get her into positions to score, Bühl still finds a way to contribute 3 key assists to help her team score 3 critical goals. Bayern generating 8 shots in the 2nd half, after only managing 2 shots over the first 45 mins. It crazy to see how efficient Bühl is becoming as an elite source of goal creation. I still can't fathom how Bayern doesn't understand how to maximize the potential of it's various attacking players... but this club needs to do everything possible to convince Bühl to stay. And one thing they can do to convince Bühl to stay, is completely rebuild the squad, where leadership finally bring it out if the offensively underwhelming Straus-ball era.
It took subs and a formation adjustment, but once Tanikawa was able to get the ball to Bühl in open space, far more clear chances started to appear. Bühl ending with 6 key passes, in a game she was only able to find one shot lol, telling two stories about Bayern as a team. And this is why I continue to speculate how many goals Bühl would be able to score if she was part of a better offensive structure... The wnt and Bayern, Bühl has been ridiculous... nobody in Europe coming close to matching her level of chance creation. Just add some more goals to Bühl's productivity... and I genuinely believe she could be classified as one of the female games top 3 players.
Oh... Kett and Gwinn were also atrocious...Neither seeming to understand their roles today, constantly unclear where they needed to be during various phases of play. Bayern's coach inheriting an unbalanced squad... yes, but there's also some obvious lack of clarity in the way these players meant to work together collectively. There were times Gwinn was doing her standard trick of inventing to create overloads centrally, but now within a system not designed for her to do this, her movement just allowed Arsenal opportunities to counter more effectively. With injuries, I think it also clear this would be a better Bayern in this seasons UWCL. But even missing players, the coach still has enough talent to construct a far better defensive/offensive unit.
Unaufhaltsam. pic.twitter.com/SMwB9fVDiu— OptaFranz (@OptaFranz) November 13, 2025 ... the moment she starts getting more opportunities to showcase her shooting, we're talking about Bühl being a top 3 player in women's football.
Seriously... if Bühl can continue this over the duration of a full season, I think she might be about to complete one of the best single club seasons witnessed by a professional female player... Currently by a significant distance she's become the best creator of chances/goals in European women's football. But the data is also looking extreme enough to indicate Bühl only needing to add a few more goals scored to her game, before she steps into a realm of elite only a few have ever entered... I honestly don't know how Bayern keep her... but I do know they lose her, there's almost no way to replace what she provides.
According to Sport Bild, Georgia Stanway, Géraldine Reuteler, Nicole Anyomi and Lineth Beerensteyn are expected to leave their clubs at the end of the season. All four are out of contract in the summer. 👀 pic.twitter.com/juOy4dpzhW— Soccerdonna (@soccerdonna) November 12, 2025 ....
Sport Bild says Magdalena Eriksson, Pernille Harder, and Sarah Zadrazil, will all extend their contracts with Bayern (other contracts are still been negotiated)... This Bayern team could be about to lose Bühl AND Stanway, but are looking to retain numerous players age 30+... Bayern's leadership need to start thinking about the bigger picture now (new stadium era), and start looking towards establishing a new core for their team to grow together over the next 3-5 years. Straus-ball era HAS TO DIE... as it's never going to bring them success in the UWCL. But allowing key pieces of your team to leave before their prime could be disastrous...
This was Harder's Heat Map Vs Arsenal For the first 45 mins Bayern's defense and mid-field refusing to pass the ball to their forwards in open space... meaning non of Schüller's runs would be acknowledged too. The 2nd half would see Harder play in a more complicated role of a false 9, and recieve better passes thanks to Bayern's system adjustments placing Tanikawa and Caruso closer to goal. However... to me it was really frustrating watching Bayern continue to use Starus-ball for so long, knowing it limits width to the FB's providing crosses, as their only #9 always recieves almost zero service. Wining against Arsenal not being a great way to asses the health of the Bayern squad; as it also hides why this team really needs a fresh start around a younger core group. Losing both Bühl and Stanway at the same time will be painful to try and replace... but losing a bunch of the 30+ players should be seen as acceptable if the club really has a plan in place. A 33yo Harder playing a false 9 role next season resolving none of the problems this team has in UWCL competition.
Reuteler leaving Frankfurt makes sense... her decision to extend with Frankfurt this season predicated on Frankfurt being a UWCL club. (Which thier not) Beerensteyn leaving Wolfsburg also makes sense when you see her play. Incredibly dangerous in certain scenarios, she's also often completely out of sync with the rest of the team around her. But Anyomi leaving Frankfurt.... This I honestly didn't see coming anytime soon. Age 26 next season, about to unlock another level of her game, does this news mean Bayern, Wolfsburg, or a WSL club showing interest...? In my opinion Cerci Germany's best domestic #9 right now, making it strange not hearing anything about her leaving Hoffenheim at the end of the season... But using standard women's football logic... Beerensteyn leaves Wolfsburg, there's a very clear replacement for Wolfsburg when you look at Anyomi, no...? Frankfurt will replace Reuteler with I.Acikgoz, Chiba the player who should be allowed to replace Anyomi to finally become a regular starter in their attack. Maybe the big transfer nobody considering here, is the idea Stanway leaving Germany, opening a spot for future wnt CM prospect Wrede to join a potential new look Bayern...?
Well countering Batfink’s remarks; Buhl been the NT’s most consistent starter now for 5 years, nothing new here. Unfortunately since 2023 WC has underperformed in the last few summer tournaments. But definitely looked great since the Nations League performance vs France Batfink seems to be hyping now this 17 year old , Wrede to an point that if Wuck looses the Nations League(where Germany’s an huge underdog) it will be all blamed on Wuck for not picking her his squad. Haven’t seen Wrede play, I’ll take it that she’s good. but why not let her first play at the u19/20 stage or u23’s?. Germany has fallen a bit on the youth circuit stage with disappointing results since the 2016 u20 WC. So why not show what she’s got at those youth championships, instead forcing so prematurely on the senior squad? I guess someone don’t get it that Oberdorf’s career looms pretty much ruined from all the injuries she’s gotten from playing way too up for her age
Cup matches return this weekend, with Wolfsburg Vs Freiburg a game I'll be focusing on, to see how the continued development of former junior wnt 21yo Birkholz, and Swiss wnt member 22yo Csillag will look Vs another strong opponent. Managing to throw away points Vs various teams this season, in their last match Freiburg would beat a good Leverkusen side thanks to their surprisingly effective attacking quality. This season for me Birkholz in Freiburg's #9 role standing out, after spending previous years looking like a player with a skill set to actually do well at the 1.Bundesliga level. Freiburg also having the dynamic 1v1 skill set of Csillag showcasing a level of potential that could eventually see her hurting a lot of teams this season. If Csillag had better composure in front of goal, she would honestly be sitting on 5 goals this season just from wasted chances Vs Hoffenheim and Leverkusen lol. So I'm not expecting Freiburg to beat Wolfsburg, but I still see this cup match being a good test for Lerch if he continues with the bad squad rotation/team selections...
Plus I don't think I'm crazy to say the clubs at the bottom of the league are contributing more offensive threat than were used to seeing...? Essen being rock bottom with only 5 goals scored, not telling the full truth of them being a better team offensively than many of the teams previously relegated from this league. I've seen all these teams play now, and been pleasantly surprised with a lot of the football on display by the leagues lowest ranked clubs. This for me best evidenced with Jena's goal total last season only being 7, while this season they already have 10... We could be about to witness Essen be one of the relegated clubs, with their team featuring strong domestic and foreign wnt level talent...; something I would have never predicted pre season. The top clubs need to improve themselves even more, but the bottom of the league feels like it's no longer a purely negative football.
73' DOUBLE CHANGE Lauren Hemp and Blindkilde Brown are met with a standing ovation as they make way for Sydney Lohmann and Iman Beney. 3:0 win for Lohmann
I see... listening to English WSL commentary, it's clear now that Rebecca Knaak is a English sleeper agent intended to keep Germany's defense looking like complete trash lol. Talking about Knaak like she's legit, starting for Man City every week, is only meant to convince the dummies controlling Germany's squad selection to pick Knaak as a starter lol. This is the only rational explanation I can construct for anyone seeing Germany's wnt look so weak with Knaak, then see Germany's defense improve without Knaak, but talk like Wück is waiting on her return... I know the wnt's lack of a stable system demands a lot from players to perform well individually. But I hope the wnt coaches don't fall for the fraudulent nature of Knaak.. She's a tactical liability, with very limited athleticism for a Defender at the elite level... and regardless of her club performances, I hope the wnt coaches don't persist with her when it comes to the Nations League finals.
If not being a starter for Bayern and Wolfsburg was enough to see Magull and Lattwein ignored from wnt selection... why isn't this the same logic beibg used for Nüsken and Lohmann... I'm constantly positive about the technical attributes of Lohmann... but if she's not able to be more than a late substitute for her new club, she honestly doesn't deserve the privilege of continued wnt selection. Standards for the wnt player pool have fallen... and this doesn't need to be the scenario considering the competition for places.
Freiburg knowing they have a weak defensive record this season are going all out attack early Vs Wolfsburg... Still waiting for Lerch to recognize Beerensteyn's style will work better wide left within his system too, as it allows his team to also deploy an extra CM. But again... it's been a pleasent surprise to see so many teams showcase legit offensive threat against the nations top 3 clubs.
Freiburg can't defend, which means they'll have to continue with an attack first approach... meaning more goals should occur.
