Lohmann has only had one season in her whole pro career, where she hasn't been forced to miss extended periods of the season due to injury. So I hope the Man City coaches know this, and ease her back into 90 mins, as it's rather worrying seeing her already reduced to late cameos all because of non contact related injury concerns... Surely Nüsken will be on loan at another WSL very soon, no...? The signs right now should be very clear about her future no longer being in the thoughts of her new coach. And then Alber I fear made a decision to join a Chelsea side that will set her career backwards another season.... Alber not even a starter for Hoffeneheim after her return from ACL damage, still moving to a Chelsea side that was already unlikely to play her before their new coach decided on using a 3-4-3. And I know Alber still young enough to turn this around and have a very strong pro career. But after her ACL tear, I'm also convinced Alber should have re-established her self a starter at Hoffenheim first, before ever making career decisions to face the test of tougher competition for regular game time at a stronger club.

Compared to the needless struggle Wolfsburg would find Vs Hamburg, Hoffenheim practically cruised to victory vs the same surprisingly exciting newly promoted opposition. A huge part to Hoffenheim having such a comfortable performance mainly coming through Cerci looking almost unstoppable at times, linking play, beating defenders, only to see her poor finishing preventing her from scoring 2 or 3 goals. I still can't understand how a former undersized FB like Gloning is remaining a starter for Hoffenheim as a CM...; But if it's not broke, I guess the rule is you don't look to change it lol. But even in defeat where they were comprehensively dominated by a Hoffenhiem, I still have to once again praise HSV for their constant belief in attacking football, while using a typically negative 3-5-2 system that should see them far less effective at this level when you consider the talent within their roster. Today another of their youth prospects 17yo junior international Eggert would impress; deployed within a wing back role, Eggert showcasing genuine signs of one day being a potential elite FB if she can continue to develop her final pass/end product. Oh.... and while Kössler would score twice, when I think what her general level of development looked like a few years ago at Potsdam, it's very clear to me that between Kössler and Cerci, it's Cerci who's taken her game to the next level first, with us still waiting to see if Kössler can become a true international level FW.

I found a lower ranking. Carina Schlüter from St.Pölten had a 2.3 when they lost 2:8 against Wolfsburg in 2022.
I Didn't watch... but damn, this is exactly what I feared would happen. Bayern, the new standard of 1.Frauen-Bundesliga...
Looking at the stats, it seems like Bayern were completely overwhelmed in CM.. Anyway, I don't think there's any reason to waste time watching this beatdown now lol; so I just hope Wolfsburg don't get destroyed Vs PSG next, with Bayern making the necessary tactical corrections to prevent such an embracement taking place in future UWCL games. So maybe this result will force Bayern's director of football to get serious about the nature of the squad for next season? But honestly, this teams football hasn't been suited for success within the UWCL for YEARS... Meaning with Wolfsburg going through significant regression, as Frankfurt refuse to advance. The least Bayern could do is actually attempt to set a standard that allows domestic rivals to chase and measure themselves against a respectable UWCL level club. I knew the post Wolfsburg dominance domestic vacuum in power would be bad... but seeing Bayern be the club to lead the Frauen Bundesliga ever closer towards a potential dark age is crazy...

Huth, Beerensteyn, and Popp, all starting....; yeah, I don't like it. No, Linder, no Endemann, and going back to starting with Popp in mid-field... oh boy. Zicai ---------------------- Beerensteyn ----------------------------- Huth ----------------------------------- Popp ----------------------------------------- --------------- Peddemors ------------------ Minge ----------------------- Levels ------------------------------------------------------------ Wedemeyer ----------------------- Küver ------------ Dijkstra -------------------------- ------------------------------- Johannes ----------------------------------------- This will be an important test of Küver's recovery, and provide some answers regarding Minge's capabilities in a CM role. But even if Huth and Zicai have been strong offensively from wide positions, I still find it very strange to see Endemann continued to be so disregarded when it comes to the idea of her being a regular starter... Seeing Wolfsburg this season, they've not looked particularly balanced with Beerensteyn leading the attack, while Popp in the CAM role. And facing a PSG who uses a 3-5-2, the concern here is Wolfsburg being outnumbered in mid-field. Not initially planning on watching this game either, Bayern's destruction Vs Barca now has me intrigued to see how bad the 1.Bundesliga clubs really are tactically in this seasons UWCL... Can Wolfsburg dominate possession.. unlikely. Can they defend competently in a low block and counter effectively... unlikely. And having seen the starting 11, it creating even lower expectations for a team I really don't know how their are meant to win this game. PSG already losing 6-1 Vs Lyon this season... without surprisingly elite performances from host of players, I find it genuinely hard see how this Wolfsburg team possess enough of a goal threat to offset Lerch's overall weak approach to team based defending...
1-0 Wolfsburg score from an own goal off a corner. Wolfsburg's defensive shape is terrible lol, so we should see more goals scored
