Protest successful. Match has to be replayed. According to Football Rule 14 (2), if the goalkeeper commits an offence while taking the penalty kick and the ball - as in the present case - misses the goal, the penalty kick is only to be retaken "if the goalkeeper's offence clearly affected the shooter". According to the sports court, this rule was disregarded in the present case. In view of the time and the score, this violation of the rules also influenced the scoring of the match as lost or a draw with a high degree of probability, so that the appeal had to be granted.
The result between Freiburg and Bayer 04 Leverkusen with a score of 2:3 and three points in favour of Leverkusen is overturned.... Is this setting a dangerous precedent.. I've never heard of this actually happening in the top divisions of European men's football.
I see this, and just think how many more Twente players are going to end up playing for Wolfsburg.in the next two years lol.
Sounds like it was a very close match, in the process highlighting the gap Frankfurt frustratingly failed to close during this summers transfer window... And even if I believe Frankfurt possess a defence and mid-field that on the right night can compete with the best of Europe, it's still a team with a key flaw to the way it approaches attack. Unlike Wolfsburg who mainly appear to be underachieving, I'm convinced we're watching a Frankfurt side with a coach who's potentially reached his summit... And when I see this seasons Real Madrid with 6 Spainish wnt players, and 5 strong foreign internationals It makes me wonder what the hell are Frankfurt really doing, when they can regularly select 6 or 7 German wnt level players right now, but continue to limp along never really pushing to be part of the elite...
Leverkusen appeal. The football laws allows the referee to repeat a penalty that was missed so I guess that Leverkusen will get their points back. It's just a wrong decision but no violation of the rules.
Eine Ausgliederung vom DFB wird für die Bundesliga konkreter! Als Vorbild kann dabei durchaus die WSL herhalten. Zumal nun laut @sportstudio eine Agentur aus England beauftragt wurde. 🧐https://t.co/0ED2Bd1WY1— Fußball der Frauen 90min.de (@FF_90min) September 20, 2024 The break away league is supposedly still moving forward, but now under the guidance of the company who set up the conditions for the WSL...
I thought this was too crazy to be a real thing lol. Leverkusen said hold up this is dumb, and I'm sure everyone else looked at the potential ramifications of this situation and said no.. we probably shouldn't rule in favour of Freiburg lol.
Leipzig - Bremen 2:0(1:0) Andrade(8), Hoffmann(50) Freiburg - Jena 1:1(0:1) Vobian(59) - Birkholz(17) Essen - Leverkusen 0:2(0:0) Kögel(47), Levels(58)
Potsdam - Frankfurt 0:6(0:1) Freigang(13, 84, 90+1), Bernhardt(62og), Anyomi(67, 73) Wolfsburg - Köln 5:1(2:1) Popp(27), Lattwein(45), Brand(51), Wilms(68), Beerensteyn(83) - Billa(25p) 2.Bundesliga Bochum - Freiburg II 2:1 Weinberg - Gütersloh 2:1 Andernach - Union Berlin 0:2 Frankfurt II - Nürnberg 0:4 Mönchengladbach - Meppen 1:0 Sand - Ingolstadt 2:2 Bayern II - Hamburger SV 0:1 1.Weinberg 9 2.Union Berlin 8 3.Hamburger SV 7 4.Nürnberg 7 5.Sand 7 6.Mönchengladbach 7
Essen don't have the squad depth to truly alleviate the loss of so many players through injury, and yet they still managed to make Leverkusen work for their win. Kögel would impress again for Leverkusen, scoring another good individual goal. And even with her red card, I think it's fair to say Levels continues to showcase displays suggesting stronger teams will probably be looking to recruit her for themselves very soon...
I don't think Wolfsburg have managed to construct a quality 90 mins so far this season... This time Wolfsburg managing to look pretty horrible for most of the 90 mins Vs Köln, and still produce 20 shots 11 on target, compared to their opponents 9 shots 1 on target... And what makes this even more confusing, is knowing the final stats for the match Vs Köln, not too dissimilar to Wolfsburg's UWCL qualifier Vs Fiorentina...
Köln's young GK Hoppe would produce a rather underwhelming display, that made life much easier than what it looked like it should have really been for Wolfsburg's attack... But I still don't understand how Wolfsburg continue to score goals with terrorists like Brand, and Beerensteyn holding everything hostage to their highly ineffective wing play... The two terrorists on either wing doing whatever they chose, the surprise here is seeing Huth select her moments to move out wide to provide good crosses, and create a lot of good chances. Meaning while I still believe Endemann, Blomqvist. and Sellner, will be part of Wolfsburg's most effective attack this season, it's hard to try and argue any faults in an offensive trio that's now helped produce 12 goals in the teams last two matches.
@Lohmann did Brand officially get Wolfsburg’s 3d goal?—-the Soccerway website gave it to Beerensteyn(since it looked like the ball rubbed against her before going in) ———————————————————— Freigang again scores an hat trick—-this isn’t some kinda fakes news?—or at least any highlights of it? ———————————————————— and how is the press handling the relatively weak showing of Euro womens soccer this year?—-I mean only 3rd place at the Olympics/only 4th place at u20 WC or has the Euro media just shrugged it under the rug?
To find not geo-blocked highlights is not easy this season Freiburg vs Jena Yes, it's Brand's goal - could be handball if Beerensteyn touched it. You think German media care about U20 World Cup after Germany is out? And why "only" 3rd place? Two teams in the top 4 - UEFA had never more.
YES——in the jig important game vs Hoffenheim, Dallmann starts again! well Lohmann can always come on later to clean up after Hoffenheim gets exhausted
Cant watch/not live on YouTube, like an great Ingmar Bergman movie, with Scandinavians sometimes you got to be patient for good things to happen BM 2, HOF 1
Hoffenheim's CM's lack the technical quality to retain possession, and then produce accurate progressive forward passes to allow Cerci and Kössler to work together effectively in transition. Previously it was creating and exploiting transitional opportunities that became the key to Cerci and Kössler's successful striker partnership at Potsdam, and it's very frustrating watching them have to try and function with the garbage Hoffenheim's two CM's continue to provide them now.
And whatever reasons Alber had to stay away from the u20's... I'm not liking how her current coach at Hoffenheim has come to the same incorrect conclusion on her not being a winger/wide forward anymore... Starting from the wings I think she was Hoffenheim's top scorer last season, with all her previous success at youth level based on her being deployed as a wide forward too. So I'm very confused why Hoffenheim are following the same flawed thinking of the u19/20 wnt coach, when their new formation would benefit from them deploying two genuine wingers/wide forwards on both sides of the field...
