currently live run n fun soccer between Hoffenheim & Freiburg with thr latter ahead 2-2 in the 70th minute. The tall athletic 19 year old named Blumeberg so far with game winner (could of used her at the u20, lol) HOF pretty much doin like last year whtn you think they could be a contender…..start loosing. But one problem is that so far Cerci & Kossker fact been anywhere close to what they weee before their major injuries
u19 international Blumenberg fresh from leaving Wolfsburg's 2nd team to join Freiburg, just scored her first senior level goal in her teams 2-3 win away to Hoffenheim... But damn... having speculated on the potential flaws of Hoffenheim's new 4-4-2 system, I think the early season has been a slightly worrying reality check on the limitations of this teams current CM duo, and the negative effects you see without true width out wide too... If Hoffenheim want to get the best from Kössler and Cerci in the same attack, with their current roster of players it's going to require some tactical adjustments before we see them reproducing anything like the form witnessed while they both played for Potsdam. However... looking at Freiburg again, with them possessing a genuine goal threat, with a coach who's returned to a deploying a defence that makes sense, I have to imagine we might see some more improvement once their 3 u20 players come back (Szenk, Axtmann, Zicai).
Hoffenheim - Freiburg 2:3(1:1) Memeti(21), Steuerwald(89og) - Steuerwald(19), Blumenberg(64), Martinez(88)
I also noticed Essen's coach is constantly trying to tackle his teams issues in CM right now, by deciding to trail Kowalski in a deeper CM role, with 16yo Potsi taking over as a CAM... So I wonder if this means new u19/20 signing from Frankfurt Platner instantly comes into Essen's first 11... as the only other way to accommodate for the loss of Piljic would be to change system towards a 4-3-3 that uses a lone DM Pivot... I'm thinking this meant to be their actual starting attack/mid-field... explaining some of their early season struggle. Elmazi ------- Maier ------- Purtscheller --------------- Kowalski ------------------ ---------- Rieke ----- Platner ------------
2015/16 we saw a 10 point difference between 1st and 2nd place as Bayern won the league. That season Wolfsburg would lose to Lyon on penalties in the UWCL final. Why do I get the feeling we're about to witness a larger gap between 1st and 2nd place this season, and not see a German team even reach a UWCL semi final....
DFB -Pokal draw last 16 Mainz 05 vs VfL Wolfsburg Borussia Mönchengladbach vs SGS Essen Fortuna Köln vs Werder Bremen Union Berlin vs Eintracht Frankfurt Bayer Leverkusen vs Turbine Potsdam Hamburger SV vs Carl Zeiss Jena VfL Bochum vs TSG 1899 Hoffenheim SC Freiburg vs Bayern München
At a time we don't even know if Wolfsburg can actually qualify for the UWCL, it's crazy seeing a former rival like Barcelona's women currently deploying 4 former Wolfsburg players within their starting 11 lol... And facing the prospect of a first leg UWCL qualifier Vs Fiorentina today, I look at Wolfsburg's current team and wonder... how could Stroot potentially select up to 9 German internationals each week, and still produce something so mediocre lol... So even if I know it won't happen... with their poor defence I'd hope to see something like this for the first leg... SJJ -------------------- Popp ----------------- Endemann ----- Lattwein ---- Kielland/Papp ---- Minge ------ Linder ----- Hegering ---- Hendrich ----- Wedemeyer ------------------------- Frohms ----------------------- Knowing with this team selection you get a legitimate counter threat from wide players who typically thrive scoring goals by constantly attack open space. While you also get an improved mid-field trio with the introduction of a DM in Kielland or Papp. Beerensteyn, Brand, Hagel, Huth, and Blomqvist, all on the bench as legit offensive substitute options too, it would be nice just to see Stroot actually showcase some defensive tactical intelligence for once. But of course this won't happen lol... with Stroot probably using Popp and Huth in mid-field again, Brand doing whatever she wants, with Beerensteyn being his #9, allowing Wilms to continue her reign of chaos at RB...

This been one sided nonsense, Italy proving their only a two team league as well. So that Vero still playing, thought she was playing somewhere in Sweden & getting sacrificed by the legend of Attestupa for being soooo old
Well... I couldn't be more happy to say I was 100% wrong on this pre game analysis lol. Not only would this game see Stroot making corrections to his first 11, but do so in ways that would see a needed improved overall team performance, with certain players finally producing strong individual performances too Popp as the #9, with two dribble focused terrorists either side of her lol, still functioned as an attacking trio because (like I keep saying) Popp as a #9 always does way more than simply stand in the middle expecting service. Huth would stay in her CAM role, but due to the nature of the 4-2-3-1 continue to constantly move wide right to produce the crosses that would lead to multiple of Wolfsburg's goals. With this being such a strong team performance, we'd even witness Wilms managing to look really good. Never running recklessly forward without any context of what's happening around, constantly providing good forward passes, she'd even provide accurate early crosses for forwards... Leaving me to ask... where has this been for so long, and can Stoot actually have this team to continue this tempo of football over the entire season...?
Versus the 1.Bundesliga's lowest rated team... Compared to facing Serie A's 3rd best team last season... Why does this feel like something isn't right here...
Defensively Wolfsburg will still need to get Küver, and Dijkstra, to return to full health. While Wilms also needs to maintain some kind of positive form over the long duration of a season. Lattwein running the show Vs Fiorentina, would seem to take even more responsibility in the absence of Oberdorf, as Minge being Oberdorf's replacement would appear to concentrate far more on defensive duties for a strong UWCL debut. Endemann still being the teams most effective wide forward, with both Blomqvist, and Sellner, returning to the first team, also hints at Wolfsburg's attack potentially being nowhere near it's final form.. Still leaving many questions surrounding Stroot's coaching, meaning we'll soon see if this latest result a complete anomaly...
