The team in seventh place will be relegated and the team in sixth place will play against Hoffenheim II to stay in the 2. Bundesliga but because it is unclear how many teams will be promoted it is possible that less teams will be relegated.

 

The presence of "big clubs" secondary teams makes for a quite strange landscape in Frauen-Bundesliga 2nd Division. Most other nations have nothing of that (or at least I know for instance that Italy and Japan, the women's leagues I follow more, don't have that, at least in II Division, although some Japanese teams as NTV-Beleza, JEF United Chiba and Albirex Niigata have secondary teams in minor regional divisions).

 

At least this year the champions will be promoted (last year Meppen finished fourth). Mai Hirata today scored the winning goal in the 87th minute that prevented that Frankfurt II had to play the relegation play-off.
