Watched the game; Essen played this time with a sense of urgency missing in the Koln loss as they must of taken about 30 shots. Finally Oberdorf played, subbed in at about the 70th minute. She didn’t play the 1st two games, I was beginning to wonder ala the film Clueless if she had an excuse note from Wolfsburg stating that playing & getting coached by amateurs anymore would be detrimental to her development as a soccer player! lol
she might have a slight injury, otherwise it don't make sense since her team mate, Lea Schuller, is moving over to Bayern Munich, and she started in all of Essen's games. Oberdorf is all ready a starter for the German NT whereas Schuller's play has been significently reduced since coach MVT took over otherwise it could age sensitivity; earlier in the season, Oberdorf(an high school senior) asked Essen if she could skip a game to go on a class, field trip(which she did), Essen ended up loosing the game to HOF, 7-1!
Another interesting thing on Oberdorf; her contract with Essen ends in June 30th & starts with Wolfsburg on 7-5-2020. Meantime the Cup final between the two teams is played on the 4th of July. So who does she play for? Conventual wisdom she sits out or stays with Essen(as they need her the most). But take it that Wolfsburg with their ‘winning is everything’ attitude(even if it ruins the rest of the league ala Lyon with France), will demand she plays for them & as well Oberdorf will get the perks for being on the obvious winning side. Not sure what those perks are, but there was rumored that after winning the CL a few years back, all the Wolfies received a free Volkswage. Now if only Bayern Munich wins the CL, would that mean all of the players get a new BMW?
Maybe Oberdorf not playing much since the restart has something to do with her school exams. The exams had been postponed because of the coronavirus. Oberdorf can only play for Essen in the final. Wolfsburg has no interest in a conflict with Essen and will likely win anyway. Audi is a sponsor of Bayern München.

It’s the major leagues, since their dozens of high schoolers including foreigners playing full time, the league should have a contingency plan dealing with schools & exams. remember, MVT is seemingly banking her whole career that Oberdorf will be the future superstar needed for her to win the WC. To be honest, I haven’t seen Oberdorf perform that well at Essen, but has had some nice moves with the NT, especially when she dribbles up with the ball. Her defense is still a little scary, especially bad for an CB as she doesn’t seem to slide tackle really well as of yet. But just saying, it just doesn’t seem that woso is taken that seriously if the excuses are like ‘oh well, she can take off cause she’s hit an exam or an class room, field trip. I felt MVT should of been fired for her mistakes at the WC(especially starting her buddy Heggering)but then didn’t think she was going to beat Holland anyways) she’s proven a decent enough coach since(especially pushing more athletic types unto the squad), but also saw quite a few previous German posters/fans give up interest on their woso program due to the last couple of flops(WC & Euros) yep, a certain Yankee Doodle dandy to the Cup final?
Frankfurt-Duisburg 5:1(2:0) Nüsken(13),Pawollek(33),Freigang(85,90),Martinez(88) - Angerer(86) Duisburg with an early red card against O`Riordan. ruined their goal difference in the last minutes. They are now 5 goals behind Leverkusen.

The top ranked Wolfsburg using their A lineup(except the GK), the mid tier Essen, apparently living in the twighlight zone a they finally start Oberdorf but sit Schuller, Knaak, Petzelberger & Heggering
Oberdorf scores her first goal for Wolfsburg! Essen-Wolfsburg 0:3(0:2) Pajor/Oberdorf(30),Harder(45+1),Pajor(46) Wolfsburg will win the title if Bayern doesn`t beat Jena tomorrow.
As I previously mentioned, Oberdorf still got a lot to learn about defense. Hopefully Wolfsburg will use her more as a mid. Got to think this way cuz Doursoon can’t even start at CB for the Wolfies(seems like Goessling & Bloodsworth been the preferred starters of as late). Wolfsburg don’t seem to want help the German NT though as they would of started Popp at central striker(like she does for the NT) instead of outside mid & so far done a poor job of guiding the once promising youth careers of Wolter & Wedermeyer.
WOW Bayern Munich 0-0 at the half vs last place Jena. Meantime HOF destroying Sand 5-0 I the first 45 min.

Germany’s got so many promising players, it’s ridiculous! Yeah you have Oberdorf, Gwinn and Bühl but I’d say bring in Siems and Pawollek asap

That’s Lena Magull, hardly thinks she sucks, lol; she’s a Midfield starter on the NT(or at least in MVT’s mind). Her play’s been a bit off for Bayern Munich. As comparison to my fav, Linda Dallman(#10 & usually the smallest player on the field); Dallmann got 8 goals, 11 assists so far this season compared to Magull’s just 5 goals, 2 assists. Yet it’s Dallmann that’s been reduced to the bench by MVT. Overall, another subpar performance by Bayern Munich; a stupid trip in the penalty box gave them the PK & the game. Doubt if they can beat Lyon in the upcoming CL quarters in August unless the incoming Schuller & Buhl are allowed to play dont think there’s place for Pawollek & Siems(small technical, lil Leo types), if there’s one thing that MVT’s been doing is bringing in more athletic type players like Freigang, Kleineheme, Lattwein to go along with Oberdorf & Buhl. Willing to bet by next year she bring in Anyomi & Knumbiegel(two very very athletic/physical types), even though their not yet stars in the Bundesliga.
Got 8 goals and 11 assists compare to 5 goals and 2 assists, and still being benched, not sure what is going on here. Saving her for some other game or something? Unless its like Christen Press, where she can either start to help bring some points on the scoreboard, or help in the 2nd half subbing in for fresh legs and pace.
Oops, I meant Dallmann is a starter alongside Magull at BM( re watch the replay & you’ll see how she #10, dominates the game) but then has to take a backseat on the NT. Christen Press would be a starter on every NT in the world cept for one, that’s only cuz Alex Morgan fit Jill Ellis system more
uhm no Siems and Pawollek are faster and more agile than Maier (of lately), I don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t be included in the national team in the nearest future
Pawollek’s a central mid? Yet In 19 games/1710 minutes, she’s been only credited with 1 goal, 3 assists for the whole season. Last year she had 6 goals. It's been batfink's arch nemesis, Laura Freigang, that's stepped up with 16 goals---tops in the league among German players. Of course, scoring most her all goals in counters, might not make her an perfect fit from the Jorgie inspired, MVT version of pretentious over passing Frankfurt's still done pretty good; right now at 4th place in league standings, but it's the 19 year old CB, Kleinheme, that's gotten MVT's attention(though she plays at left FB for her), she got to start vs England & Norway, helped take out Parris & Hanson out of the game. I would say so far disapointing this season, Essen, who despite having MVT"s faves, Oberdorf, Heggering, Knaak, Schuller & a host of current & former top youth players, lags behind in only 6th place Siems(right -FB?)haven't payed much attention to Potsdam, it's still doing well(current 5th place) just so little offence(man can not live with JoJo's spine breaking defence alone!) and it's only going to get worse when playmaker, Zadrazil leaves the club. Otherwise once promising Chmielinski & Schwalm have fallen off/a 18 year old Austian named Hobinger impressed me as well as Slovanian Prasnikar with 15 goals to her credit even though she never came back for the re-start. and why MVT hasn't tapped into Hoffenheim with it's incredible season?(in 3rd place by 10 points & only almost beat BM fro 2nd place).
here's the full BM/Jena game. It's from BBC, but dunno what foreign tongue the commentator is using(Gaelic, Celtic lol) but occasionally switches to English when talking with the Scottish? analyst. About ten minutes in the game he remarks; BM seems to 'over pass' & why don't they just take on defenders 1v1? Well glad I'm not the only one in the non German world asking this question, cuz I feel it's really hurt Germany develope a 'world class striker' which includes their men's side as well. and that's why sad that two decent fwds like Schuller & Buhl are moving to BM with it's overbearing, over passing games/espcially Buhl who was beginning to become a great 1v1 player when she destroyed English team captain Stephie Houghton for the game winner last Nov as you might know, usually pay, Magenta TV, is showing most of the games for free, but they seem to play most at the same time. So was watching Freiburg vs Koln last Sunday. Due to injuries, Freiburg been disappointing, but now that everybody's recovered, their back again with a high powered offense featruing, Buhl, Lotzen, Starke, Kayicki & a physcally strong mid named Sanders, who's slow but hard to tackle the ball away from. They destroyed Koln in the highlughts below. Their taking on Wolfsburg tomorrow, will they have what it takes to beat Wolfsburg?(unbeaten now in their last 37 games!) https://tv.dfb.de/video/highlights-sc-freiburg-vs-1-fc-koeln/27886/
