got to give heads up to Frankfurt as they met Wolfsburg in he open field rather than what most opponents do: bunker at the sight of the Wolfies checking Wolfsburg roster with its strong domestic & foreing players; they combine for an incredible 1331 caps on their respective NT's Frankfurt got 4 Austrian & 2 Swiss NT's for about 120 caps, but those two countries have fallen off a bit(below top twenty) both couldnt qualify for the WC. What carries them are some up & coming German players, Kleinheme & Friegang, who have a total 3 NT appearnaces combined, as well as Panfil, Pallowek, Nusken & Hechler. Plus one American, the GK, Heaberlin, who started at GK when the US won the 2012 u20 WC, but never got picked up by the USsenior squad Frankurt's future looks bithg though, they'll probably end up in 5th & probably go to fourth next year after Essen loose Schuller & possibly Oberdorf. Hoffenheim/Bayer Leverkusen was quite a reversal from their previous match; poor game from Wassmuth, but finally the rest of the team picked up the slack. BL looked tired in this one(they don't really go that deep), but winning the Cup game was really the more important match. Again the youngster, Krumbiegel, shined with her very powerful build, was able to bull doze her way through enemy lines.
Last year, Wolfsburg lost both CL matches to Lyon. Since then they’ve been unbeaten in 37 games. They lost both Caro Hansen & Nilla Fisher from last year’s squad, but looks like more than made up for it by getting Huth, Rolfo & Bloodsworth. its hard to tell yet if they if they’re still going through with this year’s CL(or cancelling/postponing yet again) but based on the way they’ve played so far, I would if giving them a very good chance of beating Lyon. Of course, by next season could be another round of roster change for all the major clubs, will make it unpredictable, but yeah, definitely looks likewise Chelsea Will become stronger
Köln-Essen 1:0(0:0) Rinast(90) Duisburg-Sand 0:2(0:1) Pinther(45),Blagojevic(90) Potsdam-Bayern 1:5(0:4) Ehegötz(64) - Dallmann(17,33,40),Damnjanovic(23),Islacker(75) Freiburg-Jena 6:0(3:0) Minge(5,65),Karl(17),Starke(23),Kayikci(54),Sanders(58) Köln only 2 points behind Leverkusen and Duisburg and playing on Wednesday against Jena.
Wolfsburg took over after that. Alyssa Naeher use to be the gk for Potsdam for 2 seasons. Helping them win in her first year and lost the 2nd year before coming back to the states to Wolfsburg. Looks like Wolfsburg is the Lyon of Germany.
Nope, the Bundi decided for next season, their adding two more teams to their 1st division for a total of 14 teams(instead of the current 12). Personally I think it’s a mistake to expand, because the 12 amateur teams are being eaten up alive by the two pro ones(BM & WOL) it’s just going to get worse next season when Buhl & Schuller move over to BM and Bremer & Oberdorf to WOL. Don’t know why Euro woso don’t follow the men’s lead & start their own League of Nations, in club & NT soccer, so that the pro’s can get real competition in every match, instead of playing 3rd tier opposition most of the time. The NWSL with only 9 teams but nearly all equally strong teams is what’s helped the US keep its competitive edge to the tune of winning now two back to back WC’s
You should live in Europe to understand: here most people care a lot more about local national leagues. It's not like EU can be directly compared to USA, in that sense. Also, factor in the fact that, until recently, very few women's clubs could have afforded the financial costs of a whole international league spanning through the whole Europe and even now, especially after Covid-19, I can't see something like this being economically feasable, even if the cultural differences between European countries wouldn't already make it unlikely that they get rid of national leagues.
Where do you get these wrong information? Why do you think I am talking about points difference between Köln, Leverkusen and Duisburg? The last two teams will be relegated. Promotion but not no relegation only happens in leagues that are cancelled like the 2.Bundesliga. Lena Oberdorf has signed a contract until 2023 in Wolfsburg. It don’t matter anymore, Koln should move out of relegation today when take on & beat helpless Jena, but beating Essen the other day with just 5 seconds on the clock....a bit conspicuous? but on the plus side, men’s pro clubs(who also finance their woso squads) in Europe are a lot richer than the mostly NWSL sponsored, MLS(where soccer takes a back seat to our football, baseball & basketball) Some females do make 6 figure salaries in Euro compared to the NWSL(which pays only 5 figures). The travel is a lot further for instance, between Orlando & Seattle, than between any of the major woso clubs in Europe, There were supposedly record TV ratings in Europe for 2019 WC(as compared to dismal in the US sine it was played early Sunday morning over here). Common sense would make super league more interesting for investors(and we’re only talking about the top two teams from the major leagues participating, well maybe 1 from Italy!)
DFB-Pokal starting now https://www.sportschau.de/fussball/...sburg-im-pokal-halbfinale-der-frauen-100.html
Bielefeld-Wolfsburg 0:2 at HT Harder(16p),Wolter(38) A good performance by Arminia goalkeeper Joyce Lee Braun and the goal post are keeping the score low but the game is totally dominated by Wolfsburg.
Bielefeld-Wolfsburg 0:5(0:2) Harder(16p),Wolter(38),Neto(52,81),Gunnarsdottir(88) Wolfsburg took the game very seriously and it was impossible for Arminia to create chances. The commentator repeatedly told us that Jakabfi is from Italy. The second semi-final https://www.sportschau.de/fussball/...essen-im-pokal-halbfinale-der-frauen-100.html Essen already lead 1:0.
