HOF stayed even for 75 min, but got murdered on late goals, as sooner or later we knew the difference of the quality of subs were going to take over. Still, one must wonder why HOF deviated from it's usual 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2, making Wassmuth & Rall direct fwds(a role they looks unfamiliar with) than their strong wing attack of previous, & than taking off the experience of Dongus & Billa so early on(when it was stil 0-0).

    final, 3-0 BM

another final, Freiburg 3. Potsdam 2. Buhl socores 2, Once Buhl Schuller & Bremer move over, will there be any German goal scorers left next year outside of BM & WOL? lol

Wouldn’t be surprised they missed open net. Happens all the time in pro men’s game.

on slow-mo(about 50 seconds into the vid), looks like the defender punched it out instead....the gal that would had the assist, the Alex Morgan play/look alike, is my personal fav, Tabea Wassmuth, could of simply side stepped the GK, but unlike Alex(who would of gone for personal glory) decided to pass(please Tabea, next time become more selfish, lol)

overall, exciting game played at a very fast pace, especially for German or even Euro soccer

It is iffy and her judgement. I mean the gk was going straight towards her, and easy opening for the other player knowing she be on her right just slightly behind and wide opened. But kudos to the defender to kick it away enough to avoid it going to the net.

Its Hoffenheim, well known for faster pace than usual in the Euro soccer. I mentioned about that.

HOF is the most athletic team in the Bundi, that don’t necessarily mean they’ll always play in hurried pace. But in this case HOF’s battle plan was disrupt BM’s more deliberate passing game with what seemed like an never ending press. HOF dealt with its obviously exhausted players by subbing early while using the full 5 subs allowed , but they suffered when those newbies couldn’t jell as a team.
BM pretty much fell into HOF’s game plan most of the time as both teams were continuously having to punch the ball out of the danger zones, but their players humongous experience(over 400 NT caps altogether?) made it easy to adjust(as compared to HOF with its 3 front for the first time that I’ve seen them play out of position)

Very few Bundi games matched today’s pace/In comparison, Wolfsburg is obviously a very fast squad as well, but most opponents will just bunker against them, so they’ll rarely get a chance to fast break

Yeah it looks like the final 10 minutes Hoffenheim exploded. Just as you said, their subs need to do better. Otherwise, it wouldn't be 3-0 score in just 10 minutes.

How many more games left? Can Hoffenheim come back to get to CL spot?

There's 5 league games left for both of them, but BM would need to either loose or tie at least 3 games & HOF win all of theirs. BM still have a tough schedule ahead; #1 Wolfsburg & #4 Essen, but let's just say with Essen; its\'s only got one legit goals scorer, Lea Schuller, you think she will want to score against her new club, knowing her goal might kick them out of the CL, lol

HOF's best wait for next season when they move to 3 teams from the main leagues making it into the CL. This week showed if anything how eratic things are outside the 2 pro clubs(BM & WOL) especially HOF who's coachfirst says he can't make, but then did, but sat in the stands instead of the the field. And taking it, his assistant decided to coach it his own way(with all the changes HOF made to it's formation & players)

If Hoffenheim wins their remaining games they would only need one tie and one loss from Bayern.

But my reply was more ‘it ain’t going to happen’, BM looks pretty organized & called HOF’s bluff by bringing on their best counter attackers later on in the game. HOF played their hearts out, but as they say ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ so you got to wonder why they deviated so much from their previous successful formula by playing Billa,
Rall & Wassmuth out of position/not starting Hartig & where the heck was Linder & Fuhner?

take it though; they won the previous encounter by an BM own goal, so they were hoping for the same thing with playing such a high press throughout this game(though in the end it really exhausted them)

But in hindsight, if your Germany or MVT your really would want BM in next year’s Champion’s League in hopes of eventually stronger competition than having what’s looking like majority of the NT(especially when Buhl & Schüller arrive) sit on the sidelines

Think not having their coach on the sidelines affected them?

that would be the million dollar question, but then again doubt if HOF has that amount in their entire budget as to why would their head coach be holding down a day job as well?

here's highlights of Freiburg's excellent comeback va Turbine Potsdam. They're down 0-2 by half, but then Klara Buhl's(#21) long legs take over. Potsdam playing with an 17 year old GK, but it;s her flub at the end that costs them the game

only 19, Buhl has the potential to become Germans best striker ever. But then, we've seen so many pretenders to the throne~~Bremer, Schuller, Lotzen~~show simliar promise as teens, yet never fulfilled as they grew to adults.

If Buhl keeps maturing, Germany could win once again the World Cup(as I feel, not having a
go-to striker, pretty much held them back over the last couple of WC's), But got to wonder if she ever get to use those long strides again when she plays next season for Bayern Munich?(as I think every oppoenent outside WOL will pretty much bunker)

Yeah it makes sense why he’s out. But it wasn’t just his day job being a teacher but just violating protocols with the virus and couldn’t be with the team. But impressive nonetheless to get his team near the top. Buhl looks impressive, but as you said other strikers looked promising but couldn’t get there. Any reason why? Lack of confidence? Not training hard enough?

Often Europeans throw their promising teens into the hailstorms(1st div) at an early age. You could say Ellis did it as well with Mallory Pugh. It’s just makes it harder to predict if they live up to their expectations when they reach full maturity.

Guess they trimming down the posers. You have Sam Kerr who debut in NT at 16. Another example Mia Hamm at 15. So yeah they have high expectations for those girls and if they are that good you see where they at by their early to mid 20s. How are those girls who had potential but didn’t meet expectations? Did they finally able to be better or reach the top? Or still just above average?

do you mean the 3 German girls I've previously mentioned?

Lotzen has had non stop injuries since turning 20.

After joining Man City, Bremer had a knee injury that took an incredible 2 years to recover, but before that, was picked up by Lyon, who had no idea what to do with her(as that club just wants instant results). At 24, she still got potential & became the 3rd top goal scoere this year in the WSL, but than Man City dropped her to sub, upon their beloved Elen White returning from injury.

Lea Schuller(still only 22) had a great game 2 years ago when she scored 4 goals in one match vs the semi tough Czechs, but flopped at the WC & it looks like NT coach, MVT has pulled her out as a starter in favor of younger players like Buhl, Oberdorf & Gwinn(very similar to lately Pugh loosing out in favor of Lavelle)

Schüller needs CL time and establish herself at a higher level, which I hope she will when she joins Bayern Munich

But Bundesliga is pretty weakened... except from Wolfsburg and Bayern lol

Join Bayern makes you look good. Its like Lyon, you join them, its automatic stamp to your resume for CL trophy even if you were on the bench.

don't mean to bag on Schuller, but seems after the WC, MVT lost faith in her. Stats shows only 70 min. of playing time for the 5 Euro qualifiers(even Knaak & Starke got more minutes). Zero playing time for both the English friendly & Sweden at Algarve Cup 2020. Finally started the next game where she was solid as she burned the Norway defense quite a few times
Here what looks like MVT's starting forward line
    Huth-Pop-Buhl
    subs
    Schuller-Bremer-Petermann

otherwise Schuller's having a great year with Essen; 15 goals with 6 games to go compared to 14 goals for all the previous season

just noticed; Hoffenheim will be on live at the top of the hour, playing against Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter finals of the German Cup, stream:
DFB Cup for women: Bayer 04 Leverkusen - 1899 Hoffenheim
. I wouldn't be able to see it live due to work. but will watch later on the website's replay format & report back on it

    all I can say about BL is that a couple of Eastern Euro's carry the team, plus their statuesque blond GK named Klink. begs the question;
is she or isn't she related?..............to Colonel Klink!
