Corona table: 1.Wolfsburg 16 19-1 2.Bayern 16 17-1 3.Hoffenheim 12 18-6 4.Freiburg 12 18-7 5.Potsdam 10 12-11 6.Köln 10 6-18 7.Duisburg 8 6-11 8.Essen 7 5-10 9.Frankfurt 6 10-15 10.Sand 6 8-14 11.Leverkusen 4 5-17 12.Jena 2 3-16 Köln with 8 games, Duisburg and Jena with 7 games. All other teams have 6 games. Potsdam, Freiburg and Duisburg improved by one place. Essen, Sand and Leverkusen lost one place.
Not when they gave up a goal in the first 15 seconds! Lyon has all ready announced at least an half dozen games prior to the CL encounters, plus they extended the contracts of Bronze & Greenwood for that tourney(whereas WOB’s all ready lost Lindahl & Gunnersdottire) & not allowed to use their new signees. WOB seems to play with a 3-back, which would not be a very good defensive posture against Lyon which has some of the worlds best wingers & attacking FB’s/can’t help but feel they’ll be once again at the mercy of counters that’s killed them the last couple of times they’ve met Lyon. at least WOB’s first game should be easy; Glasgow has yet to hit practice field!
Home games before and after Corona break (W/D/L) Wolfsburg 6/1/0 4/0/0 Bayern 7/0/1 2/1/0 Hoffenheim 7/0/1 3/0/0 Potsdam 6/0/2 2/0/1 Essen 7/0/0 1/1/2 Frankfurt 4/2/2 2/0/1 Freiburg 1/4/3 2/0/1 Sand 4/0/5 1/0/1 Duisburg 1/2/5 0/2/1 Leverkusen 3/0/5 1/0/2 Köln 2/0/5 3/0/1 Jena 0/1/7 0/1/2 Overall 48 10 36 (51,07%/10,64%/38,30%) 21 5 12 (55,27%/13,16%/31,58%) Surprisingly the home advantage was bigger without spectators.
The start for the new season is planned for 4th September (1.Bundesliga) and 3rd October (2.Bundesliga). DFB-Pokal will start on 26th September and the final will be played on 29th May 2021. https://www.dfb.de/news/detail/rahmenterminkalender-der-frauen-fuer-20202021-verabschiedet-217289/
It’s weird to say it, but I actually think that Wolfsburg are on a slight decline? I mean, the season has been pretty good but the games I’ve seen from them, especially after the corona, haven’t been that great if I’m brutally honest and I think Lyon will have an easier time taming this team than they had when Fischer, Hansen and Gunnarsdottir were aroud Also really impressed by Ostermeier, I think she deserves a call to the NT
after the CL, Hendrich, Bremer & Oberdorf join the team. Hendrich will boost them on the defensive end/or on the flanks which been previously suspect in counters. Bremer’s a bit similar to Pajor, so not sure if there’s a starting spot for both. And then take it that Oberdorf will start ahead of Engen(who hasn’t looked impressive despite starting most games. what position Ostermeyer plays? I really think MVT is heading towards more athletic & physical type newbies than previous technical ones......and while the most preferred would be an overall balance, there’s way too many left over technocrats on the squad all ready/that’s why the major shift in the other direction ————————————————————— I was expecting the usually pillaging of Bundi players by other leagues offering better salaries, but so far it really hasn’t happened much; 3rd place HOF is only loosing their FB’s, Linder to U of C Florida, Pankratz (team’s oldest player) to PSG who also picked up, Voll, the Gk of SC Sand. So not really big names & hopefully the looting is over. One news I hear is that while Harder has another year on her WOB contract, she has an escape clause that she can bolt anytime she wants. Chelsea & Lyon are hard out to get her
I’m thinking the younger athletic players are already technical In Germany and just need emphasis on being more stronger and faster.

I'm pretty sure Wassmuth is credited with 12 goals. At one point, late in the 1st half of the season she was about the 2nd leading scorer in the league till an injury kept her out of the next 4-5 games. Only got to see a few of HOF's 1st half games, but was under the impression they were playing an 4-3-3(with Wassmuth being an fwd) but post Covid-19, it's obvious they were playing 4-1-4-1 with Wassmuth pushed to far-right end mid(which I feel kept her from scoring more). The new offensive switch, made it taylor made for the lone central-striker(Billa) to score. Hartig(12 goals) along with Wassmuth was called up for the NT but vs an weaker Euro qualifier opponent(maybe Ukraine) but didn't get playing time(so still not capped). They didn't get chosen for either later, English friendly or the Algarve Cup. Hartig probably going to have a rougher times since German's currently so strong mid/central. Lattwein did get picked but she was capped all ready along with Rall by the former NT coach, Horst H). MVT didn't have place for Lattwein at mid, so turned her into an CB in the Norway game. Billa plays for Austria
DFB has 11 goals https://datencenter.dfb.de/datencen...ga/2019-20/tsg-hoffenheim-29400#s18018_t29400 Köln(H) 2 goals Freiburg(A) 4 goals Duisburg(A) 1 goal Essen(A) 1 goal Freiburg(H) 1 goal Duisburg(H) 1 goal Frankfurt(H) 1 goal The difference is the 5:0 in Sand which DFB gives to Naschenweng. The liveticker on DFB website gives it to Rall and soccerway gives it to Waßmuth. Here is the video: https://tv.dfb.de/video/highlights-sc-sand-vs-tsg-hoffenheim/27888/ The commentator says that it is not clear who touched the ball last. I looked at the website of Hoffenheim and they said it was an own goal by van Bonn! Has some a fifth goalscorer to offer? The Sand website said that the fifth goal happened after a corner but don`t tell us who scored the goal.
soocerdonna got Wassmuth with 12 goals Bundesliga - scorer list - women's soccer on soccerdonna.de so does Worldfootball.net Women Bundesliga 2019/2020 » Top Scorer as well as Wiki! 2019–20 Frauen-Bundesliga - Wikipedia but one goal less doesn't take away Wassmuth's strong performqnce as shown in the vid where her breakaways on the right side caused wide spread panic among the Sand defenders.which eventually led to goals. In my bookk she oshould been on the league's 1st team all-star(if they awarded that in the Bundesliga) from what I've read while still playing full time soccer, Tabea attending the U of Mainz to become an psychologist, Hopefully she still stck with soccer once she gets her major, though can't blame if she quits since psychologists probably make whloe lot more money than 99% of current woso pro's!
The German Wiki has also Waßmuth with twelve goals despite giving DFB as reference. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fußball-Bundesliga_2019/20_(Frauen) I had also listed Waßmuth as goalscorer in this thread although I use the DFB website as source. The only reasonable explanation is that DFB has originally given the goal to Waßmuth but changed it to Naschenwang after reviewing the goal later. DFB didn`t communicate the change so that we now have different goalscorer lists. I thought Waßmuth is at the university of Mannheim. https://www.uni-mannheim.de/stipend...pendiatinnen-und-stipendiaten/tabea-wassmuth/
Their way more technical, but thanks to Jorgie Low’s apparent iron fist over the German soccer program, they produce an abundance of world class mids. but unfortunately lacked a top striker or even CB. This total futebol concept of(where any player can play any position) has become quite lame(as proven by the Jorgie disaster at both the last men’s & women’s WC). It feels like MVT is beginning to understand this(that you got to prep world class fwds), but with the 4 top teams in the league top goal scorer foreigners, there’s still a lot work to be done in producing a top striker. the German soccer Fed just announced that 1.1 million females are currently playing soccer in the country. So hopefully this will lead to better producing fwds. And of course hopefully they will fire Jorgie(who lead them to their worst showing ever in an WC)
if I’m understanding the updated rules about new signees playing in the CL, then Hendrich, Bremer & Oberdorf can play in that upcoming tourney(as well as Schuller & Buhl for BM). Hopefully both teams get some practice games in as Lyon’s already announced a half dozen friendlies prior to the CL
nooooooo!, one of the best 1v1 players leaves the Bundesliga, Turid Knaak signs with Athletico Madrid(well, at least she’ll get to play in the CL)
I`m surprised because she is working at the University of Cologne. Now she can play in the CL against Barcelona next month and possibly against Wolfsburg in the semifinal. Anja Mittag has finished her career as player. Anja #Mittag has ended her playing career and will now focus on her responsibilities in the coaching team. A great one. Since she's 35, we could see that coming, but her retirement can't anyway go unnoticed. Although her whole career was more than just that, I will always tie my memory of her to the era when 1.FCC Turbine Potsdam was a dominating force in Europe.
Anja Mittag`s 50 goals for Germany: 2005 (2) Norway Algarve Cup Italy Euro 2007 (3) Denmark Algarve Cup (2) Netherlands Euro Q 2008 (1) North Korea Olympic Games 2009 (2) Brazil friendly Norway Euro 2010 (2) China Algarve Cup (2) 2012 (5) Iceland Algarve Cup Switzerland Euro Q Kazakhstan Euro Q Turkey Euro Q USA friendly 2013 (8) USA friendly Norway Euro Slovenia World Cup Q (3) Slovakia World Cup Q (2) Croatia World Cup Q 2014 (8) China Algarve Cup Norway Algarve Cup Japan Algarve Cup Slovenia World Cup Q (2) Slovakia World Cup Q (2) Ireland World Cup Q 2015 (8) China Algarve Cup Sweden Algarve Cup Ivory Coast World Cup (3) Norway World Cup Sweden World Cup Turkey Euro Q 2016 (10) USA She Believes Cup Turkey Euro Q Croatia Euro Q Ghana friendly (4) Austria friendly (2) Netherlands friendly 2017 (1) England She Believes Cup This was her most important goal
It was for sure her most important goal, but it was served to her on a silver platter by Celia Sasic (back then still, not for long, Okoyino da Mbabi).
