Now that the fixtures have been announced, when do Bayern match tickets go on sale?

What is the best way for an American to get a hold of 2 tickets for a particular match? Are my only options the official site and Viagogo, or is it worthwhile to join a fan club? I'm interested in the home match vs Stuttgart on 12-14 Sept.

Are you a member of a local fan club? If not, then you can email FCB or get a ticket order form online which you can send in. FCB still does many things with physical paper I've found out. Ticket sales in my experience are usually a few weeks before the season probably because of season ticket orders, sponsor orders, and club orders.

If you can't get them through the club ticketing (on your own or via a fan club), then ViaGoGo is best. You might not actually see tickets posted until the week of the game on there.

    I hope this helps.

So, I'll be in Munich when the Stuttgart game is played in September. I completed the "inquiry" online - what is the process after that? I'm looking for 2 category 4 tickets.

Did you provide a credit card? If so, watch for a charge on your CC. If it gets to a point where you are leaving the address you gave for your trip and haven't heard anything, I would try and email them taking the time change into consideration. You can PM me at that time if you can't find the right email. As a club we get a bit more access to help.

A few years ago they just charged me and then mailed the tickets without any formal notification than the shipment. I ended up with 2 pairs for the same game. So don't count that out just yet.

I did provide a credit card - I thought I'd have to keep watching it. Luckily I'm only leaving for Germany about a week before the match, so I'll have plenty of time to watch.

Very different than buying tickets from my club (Hertha). Then again, we aren't quite as popular...

I really doubt that you will get any tickets. Tickets go first to Bayern Fanclubs and Bayern Members since every game is sold out in advance there are no tickets for non-members.
My advice is buy tickets through the visiting club for the away section since your not a Bayern-Fan it shouldn't matter to you. But with Stuttgart as an opponent you´ll have problem getting a ticket through them, too. They will show up in big numbers.
But there still is a better chance to get a ticket via Stuttgart than Bayern.
You would have better luck with Wolfsburg or Hoffenheim.
If you wanna see a game in the AA go to a game from this other club who´s playing there. they have plenty of tickets.

I finally found out how to request tickets from Bayern online thanks to someone in a TripAdvisor forum. The process isn't obvious. First go here and switch to English at the top (if you'd like). If you aren't logged in, do so (make an account if you need to and be sure it fill in your credit card details). Once you're logged in you should see an Inquries link in the top area (below and next to the FCB logo). From there you can choose a match and make a request. If you're in the US (or any other country outside of Germany, probably) the paper tickets are mailed to you at the cost of a few euros.

As I understand it, the 10,300 tickets that are available to the public are separated into three silos: requests made by phone, by postal mail, and on the web. When all of the web tickets are gone, they won't necessarily start drawing from the phone ticket allotment. For good measure I also sent a postal request and will call them on Monday when the office opens.

Lastly, I've read that Bayern no longer have the same arrangement with Viagogo where the latter is an official ticket selling partner. I think they're just another ticket reseller like any other company. They also don't appear to be selling actual tickets yet, only the promise of hypothetical tickets — you select a category which can include any of 20 seating sections. Hopefully I won't have to go this route because the prices are ridiculous (~$220 for the cheap seats).

There is also the option of an official tour package but I'm not sure how much they cost and they may not fit with your travel plans if you already have your hotel booked.

    Thank you so so much!

I just have a couple of questions, that I haven't been able to figure out for myself.

Regarding the tickets - must they be posted? - printing would be better. Because, the only options that the website gives me if to send the ticket to either home address (Australia) or a german address (Don't have one). I am arriving in Munich on Nov 20th - and wish to make an inquiry for a ticket to the game on 21-23 Nov against Hoffenheim. But....if they are going to send the ticket to my house in Australia, I won't be home to receive it unless the mail will arrive in Australia before Nov 14 :(

Also, I am quite keen on Block 214 (Kategorie 2) specifically; however, I have only been able to place an inquiry for 'kategorie 2' without any specific block/seat. Is this possible, or are the seats/blocks allocated at random? - not too fussed about this one, would be stoked just to get a ticket.

I believe so. An earlier poster said that Bayern still does things primarily by paper. The web request form did not give an option for other types of tickets; it only said that I would be charged €3.90 for postage. I wouldn't worry about it — tickets should be done several weeks ahead of time (I believe I saw 10 weeks written somewhere) so you should get them in time. If not, you could have someone at home overnight them to your Munich hotel.

When you request a category and there are no seats left in that category, then automatically move on to the next category that has tickets. There is an option to request Category X Only but it's not checked by default. I requested category 1 just for the hell of it, even though it's likely that category 3 is the best we'll do. (There are 4 in total.)

I just called the number and got a recorded message in German but I have no idea what it said. I do know that it's a different message than the "we're not currently open" I heard over the weekend because I recognized the words for days and hours that time. I'll try again later, I guess :/

 this is very reassuring. Now to sit and hope they give me a ticket...

When you get to the final stage of the checkout, it gives you the option for alternate categories in case the one you selected is sold out. It then goes on to say that due to season tickets/members etc. that categories 3 and 4 are most likely to be sold out. So, I think 1 & 2 are actually our best bets :D

Patik, many thanks for helping me with this :)

(I'll probably be back in the coming months with more issues  )

While I'm glad to help, please keep in mind that I've never actually done this before and I'm just piecing together what little information I can find from various forums :)

The confirmation email says "Alternative categories: yes, i like to have alternative categories" which sounds good... But then it follows up with a disconcerting disclaimer: "If you only wish to have selected categories, your order was automatically changed to 'No alternatives'. We would be grateful for your understanding." Hmm. I wish they wouldn't have said that because now I'm second-guessing myself.

that email should get you a response - which might be tickets in the mail with no other notification. Like I said, look for your credit card to be charged and the tickets will arrive shortly after via DHL. They ship them express.

Sorry for not being more clear before - ViaGoGo is a reseller for season ticket holders. I've purchased tickets in the Delta Sky Club via the internet in the USA, landed, went to the stadium and picked them up. They really won't post much for tickets until the week of the game.

Best of luck. If all else fails, there will be people selling on the way from the U6 Fröttmaning stop to the arena.

Better yet, go to Hamburg and get a ticket to an HSV game. No problem. Bandwagon is quite empty at the moment

like I said before I don´t think you guys will get a ticket as a non-member. But since Bayern canceled the contract with viaNOgo Bayern will launch their owen ticket exchange soon, where season ticket holder can sell their gameticket and especially for the game against hoffenheim you´ll have a very good shot to get one.

Interesting, this is the first I've heard about that. Do you know when it will go live? If not, do you know what it will be called in German (since the ticketing stuff rarely makes it onto the English version of their site)?

    news from today: http://www.fcbayern.de/de/tickets/news/2014/ticketnews-alle-bundesligaspiele-bereits-ueberbucht.php
short summary: all games are already sold out. Every game has at least 105.000 orders. Ticktes (like always) only for members and fanclubs.

I Don´t know exactly when it starts or how it will called. But it supposed to start before the first bundesliga match, probably end of July or beginning of August. If I were you I would check the Bayern tickets/news section regularly.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I understand that Viagogo is no longer associated with Bayern, but if I'm willing to stomach their prices, is that a reasonable way to secure tickets? I will wait for Bayern's official ticket exchange before resorting to Viagogo, but attending a match was a big reason for visiting Munich so I'd hate to be empty-handed.

Start at this page: https://tickets.fcbayern.de/Internetverkaufzweitmarkt/Start.aspx . Then login.

So far only the 8/9 Wolfsburg match is listed, but when you click through no tickets are actually available. I assume/hope other matches will appear as time goes on.

If anyone here manages to buy/request some tickets through the marketplace, please let us know how it went.

A whole bunch of matches went up today — not all of them, but it includes matches in May so they don't seem to be adding the matches based on the calendar.

None of the matches seems to have available tickets.

Many of the matches (the more anticipated ones, naturally) require membership to buy tickets — anyone know how to become a member?
