I am 50/50 on this. When Varane started on Saturday, I was like ??? Nacho and Militao have been beyond excellent. I dont like going into a season with Nacho as a starter, but we have a strong pairing if both Ramos and Varane leave, and Alaba doesnt pan out.

Varane is our most valuable transferable player, and we need money. Ramos leaving is symbolic, time to switch things up in the team. I dont like Chust, maybe with Miguel looking better and better, we try to push Mendy towards CB.

 

Here's an idea that might seem crazy, but will actually improve our attack tenfold without increasing our wagebill by much.

Mbappe comes this summer to form a front trio with Ronaldo and Benzema. We will be a CL contender and Ron/Benz will be off in a year or two so he can be the main guy with Haaland then.

Incoming Wages & Transfer fee:

Ronaldo - 25 ME nett, 25 ME (1+1 year deal)
Mbappe - 25 ME nett, 180 ME
Camavinga - 8 ME nett, 40 ME
Alaba - 11 ME nett.
Renew Lucas.
Keep Blanco, Arribas and Miguel.

Outgoing:

Hazard - Loan deal with Chelsea covering full wages (15 ME nett)
Bale - Free transfer to Spurs (15 ME nett wages saved)
Mariano - Loan deal to Lyon ( 50% wages saved = 2.5 ME nett)
Jovic - Loan to replace Kane at Spurs (6 ME nett wages saved)

Varane - 60 ME (8 ME nett wages)

If that's the case, then I say we sell Varane to any PL club for a discount than Chelsea. They showed no mercy with Hazard and charged 130m despite being last year on his contract. Why should we be nice?

I havent seen much of Sevilla, but I havent been convinced by Kounde. Seems like we should be looking for the next Kounde for that 4th CB spot instead of handing Sevilla 70M.

 

Nobody in their right mind would want Eden Hazard. If an offer comes in from anyone to pay his entire wages and we can recoup even 25-30 million, I say we should take it. If by the end of the transfer window, nobody makes such an offer, then we should be willing to lower transfer price.

Florentino really dropped the ball by not allowing Bale to leave for free to China and it cost us more in the long run. We should be learning from our mistakes.
