The same sources that predicted the Mbappé deal say he's not on our radar. Dortmund local media have Raiola in touch with PSG currently, who if we're honest will go all in if they lose Mbappé for free. Even if he uses them for financial leverage, we can't compete at that financial level, and honestly, neither should we.

I know people are foaming at the mouth for him, jut I feel Mbappé is ready for leadership, and we're going to build the next team around him. Also, even if Mbappé is "free", that word is only an interpretation of the actual amount here.

that makes no sense. If he’s wanting to be a leader, why would he go to PSG when Messi and Neymar are there? Plus that league is garbage, he’s already in a garbage league - he’s looking for a bigger jump.

I think it’s between us and the Manchester clubs, and you can make pro can cons for all three situations.

If anything, we provide the best opportunity with Benzema who is selfless and aging and Mbappe (assuming he’s coming) and Vinny who plays a different position and could provide a ton of assists for him.

Mino and Pep do not get on, and I don’t think he would steer him there, but that’s the probably biggest rival for us to get him.

Flo has to go all out, missing out on Haaland would be bad.

The next Club Håland joins is just his next club. No Raiola player signs and stays long term.

Wherever he goes is going to be a 5 year deal. That’s an eternity in football. If he’s looking to leave any club after he would be 27, since he turns 22 next summer.

I’d rather get him now than take any chance we would afford him at a later date.

Well then it's on him really. All I know is we're not going to "go all in" if that translates into going head to head with privately owned super rich clubs.

Main reason why we're favorites for Mbappé is that he flat out removes himself from any competition for his signature.

Than why was your original point that we were slipping away from signing him?

I don’t think it’s clear where he’s going but we still have a chance and should do everything we can to get him.

Because that's what the same sources are saying that wrote the playbook on Sergio Ramos and Mbappe.

He'd join Madrid if we can afford it, which for me is quite the stretch, especially considering the kind of people the players agent seems to be talking to right now.

His agent has talked to everyone, yet again we are back to the same place, if it's just about the most money Haaland can make, then we are probably not in it, if it's about more than just cash but a team that is well known, where you can win and still be paid well, which i personally believe is still a relevant scenario for some young players, and may be shown to be the case soon , then we are in with as good a shout as any of the other top clubs, "if" as you said "we" can afford, both(if he comes) Mbappe and him, lets see how it unfolds

Can you provide more sources? So far all I've seen is Times Sport saying he's Man City's top target and Pedrerol giving his opinion that he thinks Haaland is going to England but that's not information he has received.

I think it's too soon to tell and we don't need to put huge stock on these reports.

The media around Dortmund doesn't take us out of the picture but they paint the transfer in a much more financial point of view than the Mbappé transfer developed into. Basically the player will have to make sacrifices in terms of what he can earn in order to join us. I think that's a fact. Mbappé is doing that as well, basically.

How many people painted Mbappe as a pesetero who only cared about money with his "hungry" father?

    Why repeat the same mistake?

Let these people show you who they are instead of placing false tags on them.

All i'm saying is usually the local press a Dortmund doesn't spread nonsense. I was reading up on Hakimi not returning/looking at potential other teams while a lot of people here and in the Spanish media were saying how he'll be a forever Madrid guy like Carvajal once he comes back. Doesn't help that Hakimi was on Chiringuito saying one thing while negotiating with other teams at the same time but hey.

The situation around BVB is tricky because they are in the stock market, and potential flat out harmful rumours can have an impact on their value so usually where there's smoke there's fire with them.

Being brutally honest i think the club is looking at that Benzema/Mbappe partnership and might not be too keen to break it up next season.

A lot of people also said that there was no way we would be able to spend 200m Euros on Mbappe this summer. Aside from Perez actually showing the money in bullion bars, we could've dropped that amount on him, if we were able to.

Almost all of the supposed reputable media outlets said that Mbappe would be a complete pipedream this summer due to our "finances".

There's also the response to that, that the club knew PSG wouldn't sell so it was like waving a carrot to a mule that isn't really hungry in the first place.

Mbappe said if he'd left, Madrid would be the only option he thinks of. Raiola and Haaland Sr. went on a crossterain tour to promote the son across Europe, even visiting Barcalona when the club themselves said the player is not in their plans due to cost/affordability.

Irrespective of PSG's intent to sell, it did appear that we had the finances to make the deal happen. It sounds like Madrid made certain assurances to Mbappe that we would sign him this summer.
I don't think it was an empty promise all hinged around finances that we didn't have.

If Halaand does come it will be because he wants to be at Madrid and just like Mbappe would have accepted less than what he would have received at an oil state club.

Not worried about Manchester United outbidding US. Be serious.

Also regarding Benzema-Mbappe partnership, I could see how Florentino (he has in the past..) would add Halaand and tell Ancelotti to "figure it out".

Remember Florentino loves Benzema like he is a son; didn't stop him from wanting to add Lewandowki.....

I've yet to see a Raiola client choose with his head rather than his pocket. It proved to be a catastrophic move for Donnaruma, same agent. If it's up to the agent, he's not leaving a single cent on the table.

In the end we will see. That kid seems to have strong personality and knows what he wants.

He won't be a tool for Raiola and Raiola while demonized on this forum is merely an agent; not some all-power money vacuum god.

In fairness that was all at least partially based on our own club president’s claims regarding our finances.

If you want to see how Raiola works, you need to look at the moves he makes with the mid tier players. They make money, but none of them truly find a home or joy. Traveling circus is the program.

The fact that he was so influential in the sports highest profile journeyman in its entire history is not a coincidence.

Every agent has a style and transfers are certainly a big part of Raiola's business model.

Remember when Zlatan joined Barca when they were at their peak? That’s should alleviate any concerns about Mino steering a client for just money.

Zlatan is the exact opposite of what we'd want Håland to be ideally. Not sure what kind of point you want to make here.

point is he could have gone to a different club for more money, but went to the best club at the time to win. Mino will get the player the most money yea, but also if they want the best chance to win.

And left a year later :ROFLMAO: then took the tour de Europe, PSG, Manchester, every Italian club in the league, MLS. How is that even applicable?

Zlatan is the opposite of what Håland would have to be for any kind of marriage between him and Madrid to work.

he left Barca because of Pep, and like any good agent got him out when asked.

Haaland will get what he wants in part with Minos help. The narrative that Haaland is only chasing money out foolish, based solely on his agents history.

mino gets the players what they want. By all accounts Haaland wants a winning project in the top tier of football. He’s gonna get the money, it’s up to him not mino. Which it’s down to us and the Manchester clubs.

You keep on harping that Haaland will only for money and what mino tells him is absolute nonsense.
