Tied for lead goals in MLS.
He has improved individually more than any other player this season.
Despite Landon and David's connection on the field I think Buddle and Beckham have shown to be a good pair as well.

I have a good feeling the Commish will elect him to be an All Star.

I was a Buddle hater at the beginning of the season. But I agree he should be all-star.

No need to discuss, he should be in the All Star side, simple as that.

Commissioner can add 2 players of his choosing to the team.

    Catch-22:

I want Buddle to be an all-star

I don't want Buddle to get accidently hurt playing in the meaningless all-star game.

Also, I read a quote from Buddle a few months back saying Beckham told him he could become a great player if he kept at it and he really listened to his advice. COuld Beckham please tell this to some of our other players?

Ruud and David Beckham are the best thing that has ever happened in Buddle's MLS career !! and Landon too. Edson has tied his all time season goal total I think.

I was one of his bigget critics, but Buddle has really turned his game around. He without a doubt deserves, and will be, and all-star. While I'm thrilled that he has gone on a goal scoring streak, that isn't what has impressed me most. More impressive is his change in attitude. He is trying to play a team game and not just an individual one, which was my biggest knock on him before. He holds the ball well, his vision of the field has improved tremendously, and he a killer instinct when it comes to finishing. And he is playing some defense up top. What more can you ask of a forward?

So Drew Coho Ohio - your man gets props from me! :D

Buddle Must be commissioner's pick for All-Star

I hate to say it if Buddle is not the commissioner's pick for the all-star game then thats a bucket of Sh*t. He was not even on the ballot and he LEADS the MLS with the most goals. Galaxy fans must speak out for him. Because if he was playing like Sh*t Galaxy fans would speak up and call for his dismissal.

Not that I disagree, but what if the pick were, say, Luciano Emilio, who has one less goal but one more assist, and his team has played one less game...

Still, it's not as if it would be a terrible injustice, is it? As a DC fan, though, I'd much rather Buddle played.

That's funny. As an LA fan I'd much rather Emilio played. And tripped and broke his ankle...

    Ruud says:

"What I like about Edson is he's an example also. His work rate is unbelievable. He works hard chasing people, holding the ball, sharp and scoring goals. I think we are all very proud of him. And I think he's ready to be selected by the national team."

Yep, very impressed with Buddle's improvement. He's hit some tough shots from very tight angles. His composure is getting better as the season goes on.

I worry about him mentally, though. He's always had a tendency to get complacent. Making the All-Start team, leading in goals, etc., I hope it doesn't go to his head, ala Eddie Johnson. I've seen a few of his interviews over the years, and frankly, he doesn't strike me as a rocket scientist. I'm not saying dumb as rocks, but sharps as marbles might not be too far off.

So I really hope Ruud is able to keep him producing and keep his head screwed on straight. Edson with his mind in the right place has always been a dangerous player, but he's got that tendency to day-dream his way through major parts of the season.

JM he is a Baller, not a rocket scientist or a post master general, he is a Baller, with soccer smarts. Does he have that harvard english accent like paid Eddie Johnson, no, he is from NYC and has a NYC accent. Are you a Rocket Scientist JM ?? what is your IQ? Do you think Edson is lower than yours ?? Do you want to bet ??? Is he not representing your team in the most professional manner? His quotes and interviews are great. He gets it and is very clear in making this a team sport and team win and losses. HE is a WINNER !!

Edson is the kind of player that you can show inner city youth that soccer is also an avenue to choose instead of basketball or football. Soccer needs to find those great athletes everywhere it can in the US.

Edson quotes are very deep and relevant. I am very proud of him and how he down plays his success and goes back to the team thing time and again.

Skydog he is your man too !!! I held the water for Edson for a while in here before you all saw what I was talking about ......

What is the most effective way for LA fans to appeal to the commisioner for that all-star spot?

I think everyone here is nearly unanimous that Buddle has gone above and beyond.
