There is still no world wide draft which means all the rich teams i.e. the Yankees get all the best players from Cuba, Japan, etc. That's just not right. Baseball is about to be dropped from the Olympics because the Major Leaguers don't participate and they don't appear to be going anytime soon. Bud Selig get on the ball man, you have no clue how to handle international baseball affairs correctly. You are doing nothing to promote the game internationaly. NBA and NHL have done much better jobs. You can't even get the draft right you moron.

It sucks big time that the Yankees get all the best players. This is THE reason why fans shouldn't ever complain about a salary cap, and revenue sharing. With a cap, the Yankees would have no better chance of winning than all the other teams. I know there is a restriction on payroll now, but it only affects 3 or 4 teams. I'm talking about an NFL-type cap, that concerns over half the league, with around 50 or 60% revenue sharing.

Baseball isn't played by a lot of countries, but if Bud Selig would promote things internationally, that could change.

The draft should be international, and happen after the college season, or in the offseason. Drafting players while they are still playing college ball is just stupid.

The NHL hasn't done a good job in running the draft. Sure the international talent may seem good, but that was in the early goings on. A lot of the overseas players now getting drafted are of suspect quality.

Unfortunately, Americans in general have no concept of international sports. Actually, we're barely aware that a world exists outside of our borders. MLB has been especially provincial, but it's a fairly typical American thing. For example, why doesn't the NBA take the World Championship seriously?

Losing baseball in the Olympics will be a huge long-term blow to the sport. It makes me sick.

What I'd really like to see is a real baseball World Cup (not the joke of one that we have). What the MLB owners fail to understand is that a World Cup would dramatically increase interest in the sport, which will help them in the long run.
