And honestly, I could see him being an upgrade over those two, specially if he somehow reaches his usual WC mode.

Malagón is so bad. Thank god he’s not playing.

Was probably my biggest worry heading into the WC.

Gudiño has been the most solid goalkeeper since the start of the Clausura. If he maintains this level of performance, it would be fair to give him the number one spot. Rangel, on the other hand, hasn’t shown much consistency.

I don’t think we’ve ever had so many injuries going into the World Cup. It would usually just be one or two at the most players that would be ruled out due to injury, but this is like almost half the squad

Losing Marcel hurts, I thought he was the best mid during the gold cup. Hopefully Vargas is able to build trust with Aguirre and fidalgo is able to transition to international play easily so we don’t see Charly out there

The guy was on the bench 5 months ago and will return to it when Kevin Mier is back. People have to chill and not go all out every time a guy has a couple of good games. Hobbit Bermudez syndrome to the max.

I''m guessing that he has accumulated enough goodwill to be pursued by other Liga MX teams, at least for a loan spell. Otherwise, I agree, too quick to be called up.

Apparently Milan asked that Santi not get called up. Good move. Dude is just getting back from an injury and they don’t want to risk him getting hurt again

Plus it gives Santi time to get back in form and will give Hormiga a chance to play against non-Liga MX defenders

That Argie is going to get Wally Pipp'd. Quiñones and Raul have to get all the minutes together they can get before the World Cup.

Funny how you don’t seem to have an issue with Quiñones yet with Santi you do

'cause Argie. Plus he's injury prone and his form has been shit for a while now. Plus Julian is not being force fed to us trying to make him the face of the team.

Aguirre will neutralize Quiñones by moving him to the wing, anyway.

I seriously don’t understand Vasco’s dead set ways in neutralizing our own players. With the type of forwards we have, we would be better off playing a 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 having two strikers up top.

Both Quiñones and Raul have shown to be great support strikers allowing someone like Santi or Hormiga play more in the area. Our strikers are on an island with Vasco’s preferred tactics. We are our own worst enemy

How is it that bums like Jorge Sánchez, Charly, Chiquito, Memote, etc. keep getting call ups?

Where the hell is Julian Araujo?

I think he got a minor injury recently no?

Memote especially is a huge wtf, especially this close to the world cup. what's the point. I guess Aguirre really didn't like lainez either

I remembered that Santi wasn’t called up so maybe Memote momentarily took his place for these games?

Most likely, and apparently Lainez has been erased because of an indiscipline against Bolivia.
