Who isn't calling out those call-ups? Like, nobody's really a fan of those guys. Not with how they've played lately.

Im for calling people who are doing well playing on teams which are playing well. America is currently leading the table and they’re doing it playing nicely and Jona has been a part of that. Lozano has also given a debut to two guys who are exceptionally good in Huerta and Cortizo, and it’s safe to assume marcel Ruiz is on the radar as well but being employed by the Olympic age teams. Would rather know a coach is going off current form rather than selecting the same players regardless like chepo and caca

He deserves a call up the way he's played lately. Anyone who disagrees hasn't been paying attention to his recent performances.

That's the thing, everyone complains about callups with out of form players then when a in form player is called they complain cause it's someone they don't like

I'm starting to get the feeling a lot of the more prevalent complainers don't actually watch league games

What’re his strengths and weaknesses especially compared to rapidly declining Ochoa?

Another great performance from Johnny two Saints. Would love to see him get some minutes against Ghana.

Every time I watch him play he reminds me of Lajud: just OK at everything but he’s never going to pull anything out of a hat for you. At least with Ochoa you get your occasional moment of brilliance. He’s also 32 (right on point for the Mexico of Jimmy/Tuca, I know) and just only recently won a starting spot, so it’s not like he’s going to improve.

People seriously don’t understand how royally fücked we are once Ochoa retires. Especially now that Lajud, Rodríguez, Jurado, Gudiño and now Acevedo have fallen short of expectations.

Ochoa plays in Europe. Would add David Ochoa & Malagon as flops. 21 years of Memo @2025 & no competition.Sad

I know Ochoa has been scored in quite a bit last couple of games, but we can't just blindly say he is rapidly declining. We know goals aren't only in the GK or else his time in Ajaccio would mean he was the worst GK in the world.

I agree with you, the sad part isn't Ochoa, its that we haven't had anyone to compete with him

I would say he is declining based on the type of goals he is allowing based on his own standard - the Qatar goal, the uzbek goals were of the variety he would have easily handled even a year ago. maybe as the season progresses and he gets more into rhythm these will become once again routine saves but it's still indicative of decline imo.

We don’t need Ochoa at the Uzbek level or Australia, we need him to perform at least a better competition level within CONCACAF for starters. Did we all not watch the same matches during the last eliminatorias or Nations Leagues? The USA ran through him and so did Canada. Come on…Memo was at fault for the last 7-10 conceded goals in the eliminatorias.

I think people confuse the over publicity of Memo with his actual game.

Oílo al vato, el burro hablando de orejas.

despite your lame ass attacks it doesn’t change the fact about those matches where he was responsible for many of the goals in the eliminatorias and the amount of publicity doesn’t make him a better goal keeper.

Only a total idiot would believe that he was at bad or at fault at the eliminatorias. Because Mexico would have beaten the US with Talavera, oh wait a minute, he was key in losing the Gold Cup final against a B team USA. No wonder it's all about the publicity, the argument of the dum dums which are exposing in your normal trash takes.
