Low key several days later and still can’t believe we are missing an Olympics during the build up of a 2026 home based World Cup
Overreaction.....10 times out of 10 you'd rather go with individual talents over results in youth tournaments, and this is no different.. A good amount of these guys have the skills & builds to play senior football. Where's some of our gens who've won this tournament in the past had very little such players..
It’s not overreaction IMO. 4 places and we can’t even get one of 4? Not even runner up but can’t get into the top 4?
It is...Marcelo was not there and this was the result of one game where our guys dominated the ball while Guatemala bunkerd for dear life.. It's not an indication of this Gen being a disaster.. It's literally just a single game.. Also many of these guys have the physical tools to compete on the senior level..Where's other Mex teams who won this tournament..Did not have such players..So in the end this does not mean as much as people make it out to be..What's important here is individuals...Not team accolades..
must be nice for your federation to throw its weight around, even nad fans admitted shit was rigged! meanwhile over at the FMF
It’s not about the gen being a disaster, it’s the fact we lose out on two major tournaments. There is never an upside to missing out on a tournament. Even if some players are already promoted to the senior team, you can showcase other players. this could also have a ripple effect with dual nationals, too
I understand but the point was just that if you look at ESPN, YT comments etc. People are acting as if it's armageddon..depressing everyone when we actually have pretty good players with this gen..
Bro, even without Marcelo Flores this is a team that should have handled business against these CONCACAF minnows Fue un fracasote, no hay de otra
The FMF probably thought it would qualify any ways and kill 2 birds with one shot. This will happen as teams continue to bunker against us and we haven't figured a way to beat it. If teams actually play us, it's a different story. Also, the missed penalties are on the players. All he had to do was make the one at end of game and game doesn't even go into overtime
This new seller on ebay is selling the new Mexico home jersey. Free shipping at retail isn't bad to get early. He says it's official, what stood out to me is that they say SlimFit, are all the official replica jerseys for this time from Adidas slimfit? Hope not https://www.ebay.com/itm/1550652371...rentrq:d92950901810a60c13336af4fff5f3ca|iid:1
he says they are official, so if you pay via paypal you could get your money back if not true. However it could be just wasting your time as he is a new ebay member.
So after paying for new gifts for their wives and mistresses along with 8 houses, concacaf leaders merge U-20 with U-23 qualifying. This makes no sense. The creation of U-23 was specifically to appease the Olympics to begin with. I forgot who said it but you know Europe and Asia aren't doing this nonsense. Mexico should have still qualified but the merging of qualifying is dumb. Whoever said it was done to benefit the US might be on to something because their U-20 has been good for a few cycles while the U-23 suck cause a lot of the players aren't available.
Not necessarily. It brings into question players ability to handle pressure and the Olympics allow for the players to be tested in big game atmosphere. There may be plenty of talent but as we know, it's what is between the ears that make great players and more games provide more information.
No it doesn't...its one game..Majority of youth players don't translate to senior football..So you would always rather have individual talents than group accolades.. And some of these guys are already in good positions with their clubs..
Funny how the Olympics is all of a sudden big game material. Back when Mexico was balling in London and Tokyo it was just a glorified youth tournament.
