A lot of the back room deals will never be acknowledged publicly but to think it doesn't happen is naive. Even if we've no proof.

So let me get this straight... Chepo wins every game at the Gold Cup & every single WCQ prior to the draw with Jamaica & you would have fired him?

Answer this honestly... would you hold Loco Bielsa to the same standard?

Further, BSMX would be fun if Loco Bielsa came & he started all the midgets... I could see him playing Topo Valenzuela, Gallito Vazquez, Luis Montes etc., Kaney would be the next Rebano Sagrado..

Wait... so first Vergara tells Hugo not call Bofo up, then he forces Aguirre to take him to the World Cup... no mamen... get your stories straight.

I have 4 consulting gigs right now... (2) publicly traded Financial Services companies, (1) major museum, (1) privately held entertainment studio... all 4 have politics & back room deals up the azz & are dysfunctional as fvck.

Further, we are doing automated banking transactions for the financial services companies who bank with some of the biggest names in Wall Street... we send the Wall Street banks electronically generated payment instruction files & instead of going in to a payment clearing house database they have humans open the flat file & type it into their systems :ROFLMAO:... big difference from the real world to FIFA 2014 & PES...

Reality is that Mexico entered the 20th Century on the back of a repressive dictatorship with the majority of the population living in Serfdoms.. then a violent, destructive 10 year revolution... another 10 years of instability including a major rebellion, followed by the Great Depression (which affected Mexico more than Cono Sur countries) etc... point is Mexico was a largely disconnected rural society up until very recent... our human development index are closer to those of the Andean countries than say Eastern Europe etc., yeah we have alot more in common with Bolivia/Peru than we do with Argentina / Uruguay

I remember in the late 90's South American coaches & futbol experts consistently laughed at Mexico's youth systems.... today there is respect... the current crop of FMF has done a GREAT job without ignoring the intense politics, back room deals, multi propriedad & other dysfunctions but:

    1) You are naive & ignorant if you think this is the reason we haven't won a World Cup
    2) Mexico has outperformed or lived up to its reality
    3) Better results are coming based on the investments in Youth programs that have been made following the 2002 World Cup

There is no denying that there had been some great results in the lower divisions, but that has yet to translate to senior nt success. And odds are that wont change this time around either. For all the recent success we are still not producing the quality of player that we should

who is to blame? probably that ******** layun

And no shit Mex has more in common with Peru and Bolivia

What is a reasonable time frame for these lower division results to pay off? Spain restructured their youth programs & league in the 80's and it take more than a decade to translate to Senior NT results.

Yea, its not an overnight thing, but it is also important to note that youth success doesn't always translate to senior nt success or else African teams would be legit contenders right about now

Could be that in 20yrs we go beyond being a rd of 16 team or we could still be stuck in the same situation

    Who knows, man.

African futbol has historically had very different financial incentives... club futbol doesn't make money on its operations, the owners business model was traditionally to sign young kids, exhibit them in youth tournaments & then sell them to Euro clubs... and it should be noted that ever since UEFA / Euro labor laws made it hard for Euro teams to sign young foreign kids to professional contracts the results of African youth teams have tumbled (not withstanding Nigeria's recent triumph)

I think the FMF has made the right investments & decisions... now it is time to let them pay off... doesn't mean there are not other things that can be done / improved.... but the results are coming slowly. Unfortunately, we are still in an uncompetitive region and there is no history of any team in a weak confederation have success at the Senior NT... if Mexico was in CONMEBOL the last 50 years it could rival Brazil & Germany

i really hope Piojo has been watching the America games this season

then again, he's still calling up Maza

Facking Piojo, no way either of those two scrubs (Maza and Median) should be on the team, much less see any minutes at the WC.
