wow you been around the joint! ;-) good stuff mate. I guess you would not remember BKK at all then because you were too young lol
Haha I took the word "hometown" to mean my place of birth but yeah.. Don't remember much fromthose days. And yeah I'm a Korean citizen.
thats kind of unfair to say for those who actually go through a hard time with this. especially us americans who get to claim benefits of both parts of our identity.
what? america is a land of immigrants. I'm allowed to be american with korean heritage. if you are so bent on being a "true" korean, you should have given up american citizenship and completed 2 years of service. yes, i embrace my korean side, i'm thankful for having this part of my life, but in the end I chose to stay american so I'm not going to front. I know i'm korean, but at the same time i know what my parents (1.5 gen) and grandparents had to go through decades ago to become american and give me a more "comfortable life" ya, everyone does, but it's definitely different for 3rd culture kids. my dad interacts w them on a daily basis and its not something you can easily brush off. it bugs me how people are almost discrediting the particular struggles a lot go through. it's not easy.
i was poking fun at the notion of "[insert ethnicity] blood". you must feel the way you do because you don't have the right korean blood, so get a transfusion.
not dismissing the challenge kids like shinuke may have had to go through but similar issues abound in the world but it will be called something different depending on root cause.
You mind explaining this struggle? I feel like I sort of know what it is, but not in full detail. high five brother. I'm an O as well. A is the most common type in Korea.
a lot of us have identity issues....there are times when i wish i had been born in korea, so that i could be a korean born and raised in korea. i guess that's globalisation though.

Nice to reminisce by reading through this thread. I wonder how many of the original BSKers still frequent this forum to this very day?
Very few -- @Kanuck , @Hyok , @toohyper ....I think are the only ones who post with any kind of regularity that have been here longer than me.
thats still a lot, considering what the other old boys do (which is never post) and ah yes, i forgot about our Scandinavian friend.
You forgot one infamous one that was here longer than most people. Not going to name who because I don't want to get into beef. He's an internet "warrior" lolol.
