FIFA has agreed to a European-wide TV deal worth about €1 billion (US$1.2 billion) for the 2010 World Cup finals, a 100 percent increase over a similar agreement for the 2006 World Cup. FIFA president Sepp Blatter, speaking after Wednesday's executive committee meeting, said the European deal for the 2006 World Cup in Germany was worth 755 million Swiss francs (?488 million; US$588 million).
