Anybody want to get together in early december, i.e. th 5th? We had a couple of fun happy hours last offseason and i think it would be cool to have another. i suggest summers, it is easy enough to get to and has better (though not great) parking options than most spots in the district. it gets harder to do it the deeper you go into december with all the holiday parties and other *#*#*#*# one is subjected to this time of year.
Sounds great to me. But how about the same place as last year, that Irish place on Dupont Circle? It's on the Red Line, so parking is no issue at all. What's it called, Juries, or something like that? And after the holidays, sometime in January, a bunch of single malt fans who are DC United fans are planning to get together on a Thursday night for a scotch tasting at the Royal Mile Pub in Wheaton.
It's called Biddy Mulligan's, but it's in Jury's Hotel. It's right on the north side of Dupont Circle between New Hampshire and 19th street, I believe. Great place to have a beer, and the food is quite tasty as well.
I'd be all for Summer's, since I haven't been there since I moved to the Mills. That's also the Friday night of a pretty big Subbuteo weekend tournament in Northern Virginia. Maybe of some of those guys come in early we can get them out, too. The demo went over pretty well the last time we did that. Ed
i don't ride metro mike, nor do a bunch of other people. the biddie milligans was fun but really hard for me to make, it took me over an hour to park last time.
This place is better Largest beer selection on the East Coast. Not a soccer bar, but who gives a rat's ass when you have beers from 40 countries available.
Hey R&B! (aka R*B! ) I miss the gang more then my friendly cheap hooker, but sadly i will be in Florida until the 6th. Next time I will be there!!! Promise. I sincerely miss you, Chico, and the boys. Me and Begbie will be in though at some point. We also need to get together with Oscar on the damn website. I would email, but f-that I am drunk and its 2am. --Owen L
Argghh!! I'll be on vacation during the 5th but rest assured that a glass (or three) will be raised in various Tuscon bars in honor of BS.
I had been talking with Catherine re doing a happy hr to be a collection spot for the toy drive that United for DC is doing again this year (to benefit Children's Hospital). We can do at Summers on the 5th. I'll see if any guys can come out. K
Can't make it, due to two factors. One living in Richmond and two my wife and I have hatched the latest DC United fan. Ruby Grace Hayes came into the world last Wednesday and I am already planning on bringing her to the boncing stands I love so much next summer. So I request that many a pint is raised in her honor and in the hopes that DC United actually plays some decent soccer next year. Cheers to all.
