I got a big league game this week and my star defender is "bruised but training". I want to win the game but at the same time I don't want to lose this guy for an extended period of time.

If he plays, how much of a drop-off should I expect from his normal play?
Whats the chance he goes down for an even longer period of time?

I have played players like that a few times and noone has gotten worse... they take a bit longer to get back to 100% like a week extra sometimes, but their performance did not dip too much - not enough for me to notice anyway.

if he is bruised but playing he will play completely normal. There is no dropoff for bruised players as far as I know. However, if he gets injured again while bruised you might be looking at a six or seven week injury.

I don't think that's right, for guys in the neighborhood of 3*, you should lose about 1/2* of performance if he's got a band-aid.

If he's "bruised but training" (listed as +1) at game time then he will not be able to play at all. You can only play him once he reaches "bruised but playing" (listed with a band-aid graphic) at game time.
