    Jeff Bradley says:
As for MLS Cup, dare I say, New England exacts revenge for 2002 and takes the final 1-0 against the Wizards

...which may not be as befuddling as his defense of Greg Andrulis (and as a side-note, the 34-page "Fire Andrulis" thread on the C-bus boards is pretty much essential reading for all fans of U.S. soccer. Can Archer be nominated for some kind of book award?). Or his defense of the MetroTards.
When Glen pulled up lame ... and had to play the rest of the game on one leg, there was no question D.C. was moving on.

How can any reasonable MLS columnist not slam Andrulis and Bradley for obvious tactical screw-ups. In all honesty, this is Jeff Bradley's worst effort of the year--even worse than anything Alexi's brother has written. Maybe Bobby Convey's little brother can get a column next year.

I don't think it's bad analysis. He's right. The Crew were good all year, and for many of the reasons he gave. He took it easy on Andrullis for his Sampson-like performance during the playoffs, but don't worry, not many others will.

And he's not going to rip his brother a new one, pro writer or no. I wouldn't do it to my brother. Besides, the Metros were down 2, why be cautious at that point? Take chances! So I don't fault him for the subs. I fault the Metros for pushing up too much at the end of game 1. DC made that mistake last year in Chicago. Anyone remember that?

DC should be worried about NE's ability to fight for results, and to score on set pieces. DC has to focus for this game, and play their game without a big defensive gaffe. And without Nelson, the chances for defensive screwups are higher. This will not be a walk-over.

It should be one hell of a game.

Agreed. Both teams are on a roll. The one advantage I see for NE is their positive playoff experience from the previous year. We used to to have that experience. I am excited but we will have to play well to win this one. And when we do we can bust Bradleys chops.

Sounds like good reading for DC players in the locker room -

C'mon people: can't you tell when Bradley has his tongue firmly planted in his cheek?

A Galaxy vs. United MLS Cup final probably has most every League exec. moist with anticipation, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bradley felt no different.

I think Bradley is too upset at DC fan's for labeling his brother a cheater to be even remotely unbiased at this point. He lost all his edge about three years ago, by the way. He's been mailing it in ever since.

Maybe he'll do better with 50/50 odds on Saturday at around 9:30 pm.

Ok, I gotta ask. How does NE "exact revenge" for the 2002 Cup if they are playing KC? I know my memory sucks, but i'm pretty sure it was LA that smacked them in their own house and not KC....

His DC comments read to me like "you made my brother look like a fool so i'm going to ignore logic". I agree with what he says about NE, but I think he ignores that we are equally dangerous in the same areas. And while NE has the recent experience, I think we have more drive from falling so far and finally making it back. It will be an ugly and close game, and possibly some OT too.

I'm a homer though, 1-0 for the boys in black cause the Nest and Barra will be jumping while La Norte blinds Reis with TP :D

I for one think he gives NE too much credit. They advanced because of poorly taken penalties.

Seems everyone's against us. That just makes it sweeter.

Sure, columbus went 18 games without losing- 8 wins, 10 ties. That's 34 points in 18 games.
DC United has won 8 and lost one in 9. That's 24 points in 9 games- that's a far better points per game streak. Jeff is a fruitcake.

Overtime? DC United 4 (four) NE 1. Two late goals to send us into delirium.

It seems the MLS media is as fickle as I thought it was..last week, they were proclaiming us Cup Winners, so we win 2-0 at home and the Revs get incredibly lucky to win at Columbus? Now the Revs are favorites.

Really, it doesnt matter to me. I know the talent this team has, I dont care if the media sees it or not..I just care if the guys play up to that talent..

It may have a lot to do with some people think we can't win with Nelsen out.

I forget already who said it, but this is exactly what it is. They've dogged this team for years, especially after the 99 season. And now that we are back on top of our game they'll do or say anything to bring us down. Especially Bradley that jerk! He'll be singin a different tune when we CREAM the Revs and then hang them from the 400 section for the crows to come pick at!

Obviously B. Bradley made an error tactically. But before Glenn came up lame, the Metrostars were playing very well and giving DC trouble. Once he pulled up there, I realized we had no chance.
