Man, WOB can’t get out of their own half but still up 0-1 at 57’

Knauff beats Brooks up the wing, and Steffen fouls covering for Brooks. Dangerous free kick but headed away. Wolfsburg defense have been earning their checks today, though - lots of hard work to keep the sheet clean so far.

They go up 2-0 via Lukeabkio - Brooks may wind up one of the top rated players on the pitch.

Wolfsburg wins. They Defended deep and made most of their chances (38% possession and only 58% of passes completed). Not much passing from Brooks but lots of clearances. I like the addition of Kruse to Wolfsburg. Adds a lot of experience and a different dimension to the attack.

Brooks starts against a Richards-less Hoffenheim. Shutout first half, but I wasn't watching. Wolfsburg went up 1-0 late in the half. More YA eyes on Paredes and Che on the respective benches.

Couple of crucial blocks by Brooks in the last couple of minutes of attempted "final passes." But Hoffenheim dominating at the moment and Wolfsburg is going to their bench for a double sub but I can't tell who is coming on.

Hoffenheim bringing on Rudy and Bruun Larsen with their 3rd and 4th subs, as Che still waits.

Bruun Larsen with an awesome bicycle / scissor kick to equalize. Brooks guarding someone uninvolved.

Kramaric score and Hoffenheim go up 2-1. Pass into a dangerous spot at the six yard box, Brooks was guarding 3 men alone on the far side.

Situation may actually call for Che - they changed defensive schemes bringing in more attackers, but now need to preserve the lead.

Nmecha on for Bornauw moves Brooks to the LCB of a four man backline where the wide guys will be super-adventurous.

Wolsfburg put it in the net but four yards offside.

Hoffenheim use Akpoguma instead of Che with their fifth sub, which makes perfect sense but is less fun for me.

Full time. Brooks played well in both a three and four man backline, but very disappointing to lose after leading for much of the match.

Brooks at LCB in 3 man backline against Gladbach. Wburg up 1-0 in 18´(didn’t see goal).

Brooks a little overconfident on the ball in his own end along the touchline. Fakes a clearance down the line but drags ball behind his leg. Defender closing down didn’t bite and knocked ball forward and almost got through but went over end line. Kohfeldt with the “what the ?$& are you trying to do to me?” look.

0-2 for Wolfsburg as Bornauw scores off corner. Gladbach has had the ball in Wburg’s end for most part and creating chances but Wolfsburg making it count.

1-2 in 42’ off a great header by Gladbach. Cross came from Brooks side but not his play. Deserved goal by Gladbach given all they threatened.

Lecroix was sent off int he 71st for DOGSO. For all that has been made of Brooks dip in form this season, Lecroix has been just as bad maybe even a tad bit worse. Both are good players though.Just bad when they are both down this season. Anyways….. Brooks has had a nice match today and over the past few matches, his play has been better. Hopefully he’s over the hump.

Looks like Wolfsburg backline has shifted to 4 in back with red card.
    Gladbach with lots of threat.

Ended 2-2. I think Brooks looks livelier than back in Dec and January.

Brooks starts, Paredes bench vs. Mainz. Wolfsburg up 1-0 in the eighth minute after a rebound falls fortuitously to Wind for the easiest tap-in of the weekend.
