The Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club will continue to build for the 2013 NPSL season and are in search of players to join their squad. An open tryout will be held at John Dewey High School on Saturday, February 23rd and Sunday, February 24th. The Brooklyn Italians open tryout has proven to be a successful tool for finding talent.

Brooklyn Italians was 8-1-3 in the 2012 National Premier Soccer League season losing to National Champions FC Sonic in the Northeast playoff. In the Lamar US Open Cup, the Italians bowed out to Rochester Rhinos in the second round.

“The open tryouts are an important part of our season because it gives an opportunity for players who may go unseen to prove their skills,” said Italians head coach Lucio Russo. “We’ve found some talented players at our tryouts and given them the chance to come to our camp. It’s a great opportunity to be a part of the success of the Brooklyn Italians organization.”

Brooklyn Italians head coach, Lucio Russo, assistant coaches and Brooklyn Italians management will be in attendance to evaluate all participating players. Players who demonstrate the ability to play at the National Premier Soccer League level will be invited to join the Brooklyn Italians preseason camp. Space will be limited to 50 trialists.

Good game yesterday. Brooklyn has some very interesting players, if given the chance I bet a couple of then could latch on with the Coamos if they choose to. Most interesting to me was #10, he was good on the ball and rarely turned it over.
I wish the Cosmos would work closely with Brokklyn Italians to stablish a academy, it's something that is lacking with the Cosmos.
