Gwinn scores a penalty in the 65th minute.
Poor defending in the box by Cata Coll, going for a high ball, which Gwinn got to first.

Oh my lord, giving away a PK with seconds left and taking it away!!! The Germans finally had someone higher up on their side.

Thanks to football gods for that Berger's save... as she also saved us from watching another 30mins of this medicore display served by both teams.

FIFA has to seriuosly think about changes to this tourney rules - make it U23's - same as men's.

Most players were at the end of long season and it was showing.

Tired legs all around will not produce great shows.

    1-0 Germany win Bronze.

Spain earned a late PK but failed to convert.

Credit to both goalkeepers, who had some really good saves to keep their respective team in this match.

Paralluelo had a poor offensive match, IMO.
She had a couple breakaway chances and could have scored 2 goals but took too long on the ball when in the box.

No, please, not another U-23 tourney. That is worst and more boring, but I agree that they need to change the rules. Allow another day of rest between matches and increase the roster sizes to 20 with 3 alternates.

Also, an increase from 12 to 16 teams seems necessary.

Most players are in pre season. (At least I hope that the players had vacation before preparation for this tournament and the clubs give the players some rest after this tournament).

I think FIFA will move to the u-23 for the women too as FIFPRO and clubs are asking for a change. It might happen for 2028.

I doubt that USA will like this idea with Los Angeles as host.

I doubt the USOC will allow this to happen on their home turf.
And with the amount of money US advertisers give the IOC every 4 years, I'm sure the IOC won't make any major changes on this front in which the US doesn't approve.
