If this match is broadcast in SkySports, I can't imagine what would people in British think about Spartan Stadium...
well, they did beat Italy in Euro 2004 qualifying in Cardiff, among others. And before you cast aversion on their Euro 2004 qualifying group, remember, we played El Salvador and Canada recently. Tony

They'll think it's a cute little stadium designed to be the appropriate width for American football, not soccer. The same way we feel about it.
The ARE (American) football fields, with rare exceptions. Who cares? You are embarrassed to be American, apparenlty.
http://www.newswales.co.uk/?section=Sport&F=1&id=6441 "World Top-10 USA" is in there again. No mention that our side is just as makeshift as theirs. Bollocks. Does our Fed have anyone who realizes that without proactive evangelization to the foreign press, the value of american footballers on the world market suffers? COME ON YOU US FED! GET WITH THE PROGRAM! argh. -bs
I understand your point. However, there is no mention in the article that the Welsh side is makeshift either.
I guess they could always try to recruit from the women's team Hounslow Harriers as portrayed in the movie Bend It Like Beckham. I mean, San Jose was the destination of the two female players.
Yeah, but you have to fly into San Jose to get to Santa Clara. The latest from the UK-based site sportinglife.com, has links to other related Wales stories... http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.dor?STORY_NAME=soccer/03/05/22/SOCCER_Wales.html
Must you bring actual facts into this? The high walls that are close to the field give the impression that the field is narrower than it actually is. If the seats were closer to the ground, then it wouldn't look so bad. But then it would be horrible for watching American football.
You know some UK press will be there. They are going to bash that field massively too. Why do they play internationals there? The sideline is about a yard from that funky colored wall. This game is going to be more disappointing than the Venezuela game. Their squad is odd, and so is ours.
In defense of Spartan, it may not be the best pitch, but if you put 15,000 fans in it, it will rock, and for that reason alone, remains one of my favorite MLS stadiums.
WHO THE FREAK CARES WHAT NON AMERICANS THINK ABOUT ANYTHING AMERICAN! Too many soccer fans in the US are such big *********************. That's one of the reasons why making fun of soccer in America is so much fun.
