Anybody alse catch this documentary lastnight at 9 on the Metro channel? I thought it was ok . It featured a reporter who goes undercover with the Chelsea headhunters.
Nowhere near as good as Buford's _Among the Thugs_ book, in terms of trying to figure out what makes people participate in such activities, it was still compelling viewing. It was a bit murky with alot. Did he join them in their drugging? Did he ever enjoy himself drinking, fighting, etc.? How widespread is the fascist movement? What efforts have been taken since it was made ('98) to put an end to this sort of nonsense? How those Chelsea "supporters" couldn't tell he was a journo only goes to show how completely stupid they truly are. What bites is that it dealt with a group of at most 20-30 hooligans, but somehow in the US media's eye represents the lot of us. Wonder if he's had the tatoo removed, and if they've ever tried to hunt him down!
This is infamous over here, as is the journo. The whole thing is as pathetic as it looked. Please don't take anyone you saw seriously, particularly the journo. He did another so called "expose" on the fashion world. He asked a fashion house worker in Italy to get him some gianluca (sorry, cocaine), and then turned the cameras on her. The man is a national laughing stock. He recently did a programme about mugging. He walked round a really rough-arse area of London with a laptop on display for about three days trying to get mugged, and when he finally was he ran away and blubbed like a girl!!!
Forgot to add, he went into hiding, but lets be honest none of the fans he exposed could probably remember where they lived let alone someone else. Face it, did you see the way he smoked?
