Nygaard heads across. Stewart with the goal!

The field players save Camp twice.

Close call down the other end. Whew. Camp touched it out, so it's a late corner for Bristol City. Nothing comes of it.

    Bristol City 2-2 QPR

Point on the road...plus we put 2 in the net...I'll take it.

Now if we can get some investment into the club I will really be happy.

Wild one. Even against a newly promoted side, I'll take a point away from home on opening day, particularly with no Ainsworth, no Sahar, no Cullip, no Barker, no Bignot.

Hopefully this will be Camp's worst game for awhile. He just can't go giving up two goals from 20+ yards.

BTW, we're 10th on goals scored (apparently) :)

That's 2 home wins, 4 draws, and 5 away wins (!) thus far on opening day.

And the newly promoted sides did well -- Bristol City drew with us at home (probably the worst result of the bunch), Scunthorpe drew at Charlton, Blackpool won at Leicester.

Well, there's that. But I was more worried about the welfare of you and Atouk. ;)

    Looking forward to the video.
But right, that's a depleted side, and when I first saw that the opener was away, against a newly promoted team, my heart sank.
I just figured the home fans would be pretty stoked, after 8 years, or whatever it was, in One.
I'll definitely take the point. -whew!-

Watford just won at Wolves with a late penalty. Exciting end to the first day in the League.

It's too early for it to have any meaning, of course, but here's the table -- I believe we're officially tied for 9th with Bristol City, Colchester, and Sheffield United on 1 point, 0 GD, and 2 goals scored (I think the four of us are just listed in alphabetical order below):

The Coca-Cola Football League Championship Table
    Pos Team P GD PTS

    1 Coventry 1 3 3
    2 Crystal Palace 1 3 3
    ------
    3 Ipswich 1 3 3
    4 Plymouth 1 1 3
    5 Burnley 1 1 3
    6 Watford 1 1 3
    ------
    7 Blackpool 1 1 3
    8 Stoke 1 1 3
    9 Bristol City 1 0 1
    10 Colchester 1 0 1
    11 QPR 1 0 1
    12 Sheff Utd 1 0 1
    13 Charlton 1 0 1
    14 Scunthorpe 1 0 1
    15 Norwich 1 0 1
    16 Preston 1 0 1
    17 Hull 1 -1 0
    18 West Brom 1 -1 0
    19 Wolverhampton 1 -1 0
    20 Cardiff 1 -1 0
    21 Leicester 1 -1 0
    ------
    22 Barnsley 1 -3 0
    23 Sheff Wed 1 -3 0
    24 Southampton 1 -3 0

Up next: Leyton Orient at home on Tuesday in the League Cup
Next in the league: Cardiff City at home next Saturday

Just watched the highlights and I'm pretty pleased. Martin Rowlands was absolutely phenomenal!

Bad news on Sahar - but I like the fact that we looked pretty good going forward on Saturday even with him out of the line-up. Blackstock's goal showed bravery and skill. Bristol City fans will feel silly after thinking he fouled the keeper when they see the replays.
