    Free Paulo!

If West Ham manage to survive, it would be nice to give him a last taste of European football before he retires. Not like he'll ever see it with the Hammers.

    'Course there's the money...

When did he leave anyway? (Shows the Johnny-come-lately nature of my fandom there.) Must've been some time ago, he still has hair.

Oh were looking at something around 95/96
Tommy Burns was the boss, Peter Grant was the captain and we had such footballing legends as Simon Donnelly at the club. :)
I think it might have been the season we didnt lose a game and still lost the league.
We had some decent players actually thinking back, Cadete, Van Hooijdonk and Di Canio up front.....ahhhhhh memories of cavalier attacking celtic style football coming flooding back.

I think he played for Celtic in the following season (96/97). He joined Sheffield Wednesday in 97. He was given a massive suspension for pushing the referee after being sent off against Arsenal (Arsenal lost that game 1-0 and decided the destination of the title that season :( ). Once that suspension was over he joined West Ham, the rest is history.

I think youre right actually, I seem to remember him winning a european trophy with Milan sometime in 95.Might have been the tail end of 95 though he joined us I just honestly cant put a date on it, looks like some nice motivated person is going to have to do some digging :)

They beat Arsenal to win the European Super cup. The 1st Leg in Highbury ended 0-0 and Milan won the Second Leg 2-0.
