    Na na na na! Gotcha!

Ooops after seeing the "Bring Harkes back!" post I couldn't resist. Sorry, my sick sense of humour.....

  2. Thanks man, I just laughed so hard I spit apple on my monitor.

The frivolous among you jest, but who would truly be able to "anchor" this midfield better than Stumpinho?

Before I became a season ticket holder, I went to a few games and saw Kelderman play... I noticed that fans would just shout at him telling him he sucked.

    1. was he really that bad?
    2. is it really right to continuously insult one of the players on the team that you support?

    1. Uh, yeah...he was pretty bad. One of the slowest humans to ever lace up cleats.
    2. He doesn't play for the Revs anymore, and only did intermittantly for one horrible year.
    3. Lighten up...please. It's called humor.

    I miss Stumpy.

I mean, I know the Bruins brought back Jozef Stumpel to try and fill in the 'Stumpy' gap, but it's just not the same, is it?

Actually, the real Stumpy form the Bruins was Randy Burridge. Stumpel is generally referred to as "Stumps"...

While you're at it, don't forget Matt 'Handball' Okoh and Jeff 'No Cartilage Left' Baicher.

I was talking about how at games they insulted him, and how I thought that was wrong... not making fun of him now.

Well, I'll be honest -the original posting was a bit on the mean side, for which I apologize. However, even though Kris Kelderman had infinitely more speed, skill and ball distribution than I'll ever have, I think a relatively objective soccer observer would concede he wasn't one of the Rev's better players -and from whence came my ribbing.

And if by any chance Kris or a close family member or friend of his reads this, the laugh really is on me; I mean Kris did make it to play pro soccer, something I'd have loved to have done -but certainly have never had any faint chance or skillset to do so. For that, he's certainly one up on me and the vast majority of all the other posters on this board I'd think.

Whenever you're in the public eye, you've got to expect comments (positive and negative) about you. Still, like I said, my original post was a little too mean spirited -maybe a hint of jealousy was there.

again, I can't say this enough....

I thought this thread was very funny and I got a good laugh out of it.

I was complaining about the fans at actual revs games that were screaming at Kelderman and telling him he sucked.... this was hardly the way to encourage him to play better and improve the overall revs team.

In his last year, Kelderman could accomplish the near impossible: Get a red card and actually lessen the club's man disadvantage. Man was he slow and his skills weren't there either.

There were those of us that swore, and this is begining to take on the mantle of folklore now, that the opposing team was bound to score within minutes of Stumpy's appearance on the field.

Maybe it had nothing to do with kelderman per se, but with the angy might of the soccer gods. Still, it got us through the games back in those dark days (may they never come again).

I miss Stumpy. It's not often that one can watch a player whose no more talented than most of the fans :)
