    Re: Wow.

Aw, come on this is a great draw. We have the ability to beat Arsenal. They are at home with a lot more to lose than us. We can beat them and I have a hunch that we will (and if we do, maybe this year that trophy with little ears is on its way to the Bridge).

Anyways. I shouldn’t be talking to you, as you are a yellow card criminal :)

As in all of these knock out competitions, sooner or later you have to face the best competition. At least we're almost assured live FSW coverage.

Based on recent form, we can't compete week-in-week-out with Arsenal, but we are one of the few teams that can take the game to them, instead of bunkering down. I think Ranieri goes for the win at Highbury. But attacking soccer doesn't appear to be our current forte.

No, this sucks. Why do we always seem to draw these games away? Ah well, we were always going to have to beat them anyway, I would just rather it would have been in the final.

    True, I am a criminal

but I still say this sucks. Had we drawn them at home I would not have been as upset but I still would have preferred anyone else, including the Mancs.

What are the dates for this tie?

as it is true you cannot compete on a weekly basis w/Arsenal......
did you lot "take the game" to Scarborough?
serious questions have to be raised by the team built with illegal rubles~~ :)
looks to be another fun derby match at Highbury~~
    PHISHY~~~

I goofed and put the final score of the Wolves - Man Utd match in a thread title last weekend when I was at work. Some Manc got his knickers in a twist because he intended to watch it on tape delay. I think he was more ticked because his team lost but I got the card for an honest mistake. It was deserved and at least I spared him the torture of watching that match. I know I had no such luck when we played Bolton earlier this year.

    Re: paulo

oh yeah i remember that now. i watched the game live on FSW and loved it. Every season I take a recently promoted team and cheer for them to stay up. I picked Wolves this year (the biggest underdog - I think) because they showed such heart in the promotion playoffs. So, it was really good to see Kenny Miller stick it to the red_evils.

Match to be played either Feb 14th or 15th, so we'll have the Arse in back to back matches....

I imagine it will be on Saturday the 14th.

Hey, we'd likely have to beat them at some point to win the cup, so let's do it in the 5th round...

    Well, well, well...

...it's away at the library again i see.

I think we should take a page out of Wengers book and piss and moan in the press about how unfair it is to have to keep playing them at their cozy little patch of grass.:)

Seriously, we all know (even the a*se fans) that we have the players to beat them, this can't be disputed - the only question that remains is will we?

btw...the only winners from a tie like this, at this stage, are the Mancs, who must be laughing themselves absolutely silly.(shouldn't take but a second ;))

More like WHEN will we. In head-2-head meetings between Chelsea and Arsenal, Arsenal have been living on borrowed time and they know it.

For me the time is right, the time is now. Arsenal are going to lose :)

we meet them every frickin' year in the cup and we lose every frickin' year and i get pissed every frickin' year. i think i'm going to have to watch this at home as just thinking about it i'm having extremely violent thoughts about fomenting mayhem and destruction if we lose. last year was brutal as i really thought we were going to do it. they have our number and we MUST WIN this tie to get the monkey off our back.

Dude, no Manc deserves to be spared the humiliation of experiencing a ManU defeat at Wolves. BTW, good luck with the FA tie.

I think we have a better chance this time round and if we can get them out the way, even though at this dreaded ground, HIGHBURY. We need everyone to perform like we were early in the season against Man Utd, where we came away with the points and played extremly well. C'mon boys, shut these bandwagons supporters up and lets close the losing record book shut. We need to start filling our trophy cabinet up, no just with transfer records, but fair dinkum trophies, that we have earned well.

    Go the Blues!

Bandwagon supporters? You need to get a grip. We've been nothing if courteous here.

The term "bandwagon fan" is similar to "gloryhunter". It has nothing to do with you - don't get your panties in a bunch.

Well.......there's almost no one I really want that would come over the winter anyway, so I, for one, am not horrified. Provided we land a very good RM and CB over the summer, I'll be perfectly happy.

We'll let you lot make headlines with really expensive purchases!

No, i'm not really surprised - although i think an 11th hour deal for Parker will emerge to be honest.
Getting quality players at this time of the year is tough, plus the old cup tied lark is a major put off.
Clubs can also name their prices right now, as opposed to the summer when many players will be entering the last season of contracts and the clubs clout is reduced somewhat.

Right now there is also the rotation policy that, as i have pointed out before, will hinder any chances of buying a major talent - nobody that falls into the "class act" category will be willing to sit on the bench.

In the summer with players out of contract they may see an opportunity that isn't there now.Take Melchiot for example, he will be replaced in the summer as he's out of contract, that leaves the hugely talented, but also greatly inexpierenced Johnson to compete with for a regular starting spot.

I fully expect to see this position filled with a "name"
Same goes for the right side of midfield - i wonder if Kenyon will be in talks with Madrid for a certain somebody ;)

Oh, I see, since it couldn't be gooners you are calling gloryhunters, then the people you are trying to shut up are your own brethren. Is that it, Daddy?
