I'm starting to wonder if there's a pattern of the opponents getting CA chances/goals right after Gabriel M is on one of his forays well into the opponent's half?
Whoa! That move by Odegaard there in the box, dishing/threading it to Martinelli. Really wanna see a replay of that! He's on fire lately
Thus far Gabriel is holding his position tonight. White and Zinchenko have been a little too ambitious for my money.
Well not completely. He was practically our highest pressing player into their half, seconds before a dangerous counter down his side of the pitch. Which this season I've seen once or twice before. Thus my musings.
Eddie's doing pretty good ball-carrying and link-up today. Not involved quite enough perhaps. But positive signs.
I'm thinking of that old song by Morris Day and The Time. They don't sing that for Martin's song do they? If not, maybe they should.
Brighton have 66% possession lol, never would have guessed. Extremely deserved 2-0 lead. The opening 10 minutes were incredible, and Brighton hasn't really threatened.
Love the graphics on the NBC Sports site. Great stats. We were in their end 32.9 percent of the half, they were in ours 18.1 percent. I'll take that every day of the week.
I don't think they do, but you're right, that was the reference. I don't feel quite so old now. LOL And yeah they should. Get a good sway going, too. Rocking.
We started by owning all the stats including possession. Then mid-half we started sitting off more. Obviously planned. Wouldn't be my choice, but it worked!
Posting here for posterity This nutmeg by Odegaard was crazy! #afc pic.twitter.com/33XNot1W33— Dylan Saunders (@Dylan__Saunders) December 31, 2022
