Spurs final game before the international break is a tough test at the Amex, where we have been a mixed bag over the years (3 wins, 3 defeats and 1 draw). It looks like we won't see Son until after the break, Udogie is a maybe. Would love to see Moore start in the Son position instead of Werner, who has become the new abuse target du jour. The way both sides throw caution to the wind, it could be anything.
Pretty much as expected. Here is the Tottenham team to take on Brighton: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Maddison, Kulusevski; Johnson, Solanke, Werner. Can't wait to see 20 players lined up on the midfield stripe.
Looking for a redemption story for Werner today, hahaha. Seriously, he will get chances with Brighton's high line. At least an assist, Timo! Would be fantastic to go into the break with 6 straight wins, but not expecting it. Brighton got a bit embarrassed by Chelsea and will want to prove a point.
Would have preferred to see Moore get the start - maybe Werner can prove that the old adage "even a broken clock tells the correct time twice a day" is correct.
HT 0-2, Johnson and Maddison with the goals. Both teams have squandered other chances in what has been an open game with shaky defense.
2-0 at the half. Not bad. You can see why Ange wanted Solanke. I didn't really watch Bournemouth much last year, so I wasn't aware of just how good he is. And hey, even Werner is having a good game.
Udogie left with egg on his head today. Mistake on 1st, maybe put more pressure on 2nd, and beaten on 3rd.
I really thought we'd see a reaction once they'd equalized. Still a bit surprised that we were second to everything once the game had turned. Shitty, shitty way to go into an international week.
