McBride's new agent for foreign transfers, Seung-ho Choi, said that McBride might play for the K-League next year. McBride's agent, who also recently became an agent for 4 Mexican internationals and 4 Costa Rican internationals including Fonseca, commented "American players are not yet known to the Korean fans, but McBride had shown a good performance at the WC2002." So right now, nothing's done. However it seems like Choi might try to move McBride to a K-League team. I personally think K-League teams wouldn't be interested in him because of his age. Also most K-League teams want foreign players from Europe or Brazil so I'm not so positive about his transfer.
I think it would be refreshing to have other foreign players in the K-league aside from the countless numbers of Brazilians and Eastern Europeans. An American player? Why not. While we're at it, let's try to recruit some good young Africans to add a flavor to the K-League.
Yeah I think we need more Africans too. (although we do have some) Enough of the Euros and the Brazilians. Let's bring some others too.
Yeah, it would be cool to have an American player in the K-League and see how he does. Maybe this will come on the heels of a Hong/Hwang/Ha switch to the MLS.
I like McBride so I think it'd be great to have an American in the K-League. Plus he'd be the only white guy in the K-League whose name is easy to pronounce.
I want Fonseca and the other 3 Costa Rican NT players. oh yeah, the 4 Mexican internationals will definately bring a new taste to the K-League.
I absolutely support the idea. I also want (although somewhat selfish reason) Hong to come to Columbus !! Yeah!
Wow. He's from the Chicago area and had retired with the local Chicago Fire. Would be interesting to see. Whatever K League team he ends up on would have a new fan in me.
What the heck. I some how came across this thread after checking the one for yesterday's Olympic warm up v Senegal. My bad guys.
