Maybe 1 or 2 of his calls today were questionable, however, in the whole he managed the game very well. You didn't see the type of negative attitudes towards him that you see with other MLS refs. I really do believe he is also respected by the players.

What a difference a year (and a World Cup appointment) can make.

Maybe with his newfound "stature" he's gained some respect from the players.

He had a good game yesterday, no question.

He runs too close to the players (and gets in the way of play usually)....

...but yeah...he's the best the U.S. has got....

...And when I mean too close to the players, that's players with the ball....

Well, apparently Hernandez's brutal tackle-from-behind on McBride at midfield which resulted in only a caution was classified as a two-point "goalkeeper interference" penalty, and thus does not suspend Hernandez.

I'm not sure what happened here, but this would cast significant doubt on the quality of Hall's officiating, since he is responsible for reporting what the card was for.

Hall classified the card as "a tackle from behind that did not endanger the safety of an opponent". That's a 4-pointer.

It's MLS bookkeeping that's been amiss. As of a few hours ago, they've corrected things, and Hernandez has 12 points.

The thing is, and I can't believe this myself, MLS changed its rules again. Before the playoffs, a circular was sent to the teams informing them that a player would be suspended after 13 points, not 11. Looks like MLS failed to update its handbook and inform its fans, though. Unfortunately, that seems par for the course.

Patience, they're still trying to get it right.

    Whatever "it" is!
