    I know this is a bit off topic but would it be possible for Carroll to slide into the center back spot?

    He's going to be our Golden Boot contending, scoring threat. At least he's the only significant offseason addition so far, and I thought I heard MM said something about the Crew getting one of those striker fellers.

    Brian Carroll played a couple of different positions for DCU but never center back. He's not a physical player in the sense of throwing his body around, making hard tackles. So while he reads the game well and fouls intelligently (to stop attacks and deny advantages), he's not a good fit for centerback. You'd be far better playing him at outside mid or outside defense.
