Brewing in Brazil

Here are some of the often wacky things going on in the world of soccer in Brazil that you probably haven't heard or nor will you on espn.com. ( I supply video links when possible).

- The latest craze in Brazil for the last 3 weeks has been a player from a medium size Northern club. The player Clodoaldo from the Fortaleza club has even gotten his own song which has spread throughout the nation's stadiums though adapted to fit local stars.

Clodoaldo gained notice after scoring many goals for his team and especially because he scores them with style. At first look he is a mix of Ronaldinho Gaucho and Maradona but even though he is becoming famous for his goals and song he is not seriously considered a "star" outside of his city. That could change as his club was promoted to Division 1 and will play the Brasileiro starting in March. Watch these clips to see the goals and hear the song craze:

- Also of worthy notice is another craze in Brazil over a Fat goalie. Sergiao (Big Sergio), is the name of a goalie that plays in a small club in the nation's capital Brasilia. After the show Globo Esporte aired his performance during a match in which he made great saves including a PK stop the nation and the program have started a "Lose weight Sergio!!" campaigne. Many known goalies have come on the air to support Sergio in his efforts to shed some fat. Amazinly the guy is actually good, though fat. Watch the video:

Clodoaldo strikes again this time in the local derby Fortaleza x Ceara and he lives up to the lyrics of the song by scoring twice on the rival Fortaleza:

Uuu..Terror!! ...Clodoaldo is the killer....
