USA - September 18 - 7:00am @ Brentford (Premier League) - USA CAN - September 18 - 7:00am @ Brentford (Premier League) - FuboTV AUS - September 18 - 9:00pm @ Brentford (Premier League) - Optus And we are back. Unless Charlie bites the bullet or something. In which case, the way things are going we won't play until after the WC. Feels like a long break, so no reason for the players to be well rested in our last match before an insane October crunch where I assume the league will make us play a game every 17hrs to make up for these rearranged games. Either way, onward to Brentford. We all remember what they did to us last time we played them at their dung pile, so its time we corrected that, and excise the demons from that MD1 loss last season. 3 points to keep ourselves top of the table would be absolutely super and I think we will. 3-1 to the Arsenal, keeping ourselves top and also keeping alive our streak of not keeping clean sheets. 2 to Jesus, 1 to Martinelli! COYG!
This game is at 4am PST now. Not worth waking up early for or staying up late for this one. I have to study for immunology lol.
I'm gonna be looking at Jesus especially to see if there's any drop-off in effort or form, after having not been included in the Selecao. I really wanna believe he will keep playing up to the fantastic level he set from opening day, actually from pre-season. Martinelli, given his youth and the fact that he really shouldn't have expected to go to Qatar, I'm less worried about him. I'm hoping to stream this from a lovely unwinterized cottage on a fairly remote peninsula in Maine... crossing fingers on all fronts.
Reports that Zinchenko has picked up a calf injury in training and will miss Urkaine's Nations League matches, which I assume also rules him out for Brentford. Two injuries this early in his Arsenal career is not a good sign.
Agreed. If true. I don’t follow other teams player injuries too closely. But I do seem to recall one or two “significant outages” that OZ had at Citeh. Realizing that our last significant LB signing came injured and has proven to be a bit too fragile with us, i’m wondering what Zin’s fitness reputation is?
I'd like to "see" the team bounce back and put in a good performance with a win of course. I say "see" because I am not getting up for this one. Or is it the best sign that he is an arsenal player?
Arteta in today’s presser gave absolutely zero away regarding team news. Even when asked about Zinchenko he repeated the line: “we will assess everyone tomorrow“. Even though UKR has decided he’s too injured to play for them.
well, that's less than ideal. odegaard and zinchenko are missing the game. we knew about zinchenko's likelihood to miss the game but odegaard suffering a knock in training is certainly news. with smith-rowe also missing, i assume vieira gets his first league start as a 10? partey is apparently set to return so that helps the defense and transitioning.
wot? 15-year-old midfielder Ethan Nwaneri, included in the Arsenal travelling squad to face Brentford today, only made his U21s debut earlier this month & was born in MARCH 2007. 🤯 #afc pic.twitter.com/7tDkFyEEbh— afcstuff (@afcstuff) September 18, 2022
Morning all. Tuned in at 1’ only to hear them already singing the Saliba song, and Martinelli having our first shot.
apparently last weekend and he hasn't been able to train proper for the whole week. so at least it isn't a complete surprise.
Yeah, our injuries are revealed from who's on our bench: Nwaneri, Smith, Sousa. Fingers crossed on several fronts!
