It's been probably several years since I recall finding them, but there used to be streams that had only the miking from in the stadium but zero commentary (other than what you hear on the loudspeakers). That was the best. It allowed my eyes to follow the game much closer and I had to pay more attention to who was doing what since no one could remind me (or influence me).
Could someone explain how broadcasts work in the US for EPL matches? I thought NBC/Peacock aired the games as is from Sky Sports. Thus, @tomásbernal should have heard the commentator saying it was dumb of Aaronson to be physical in the corner, because that’s what I heard while watching Peacock. For the marquee games, I know NBC use Drury/Le Saux/Dixon, but for all others, I thought they took directly from Sky…?
No, NBC/Peacock do not use the Sky feed. The Peacock matches (and others without an NBC crew) use the "international feed" from Premier League Productions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premi... Manish Bhasin,as presenters for studio shows.
As noted for games that are not specifically produced by NBC for the US, NBC just uses the EPL’s generic international English feed, which is the same worldwide for anyone getting the game in English. It is neutrally produced so there’s no express connection to one country or market. Sky in contrast is the UK’s domestic channel, not distributed in the USA.
FA Cup 4th round...Aaronson on the bench, no Adams anywhere. Rest of the lineup looks kind of starter material. Listening on BBC feed....seems kind of back and forth at this time.
Not sure what league Accrington are in, but they’ve been the better side compared to EPL Leeds and as I type, Harrison scores. Considering this is a fairly strong Leeds side for this game, how embarrassing if Leeds can’t definitively beat Accrington.
Doesn't seem like a great match. But I did learn that Accrington has a factory that makes the densest bricks in the entire world. Just as I type that, Harrison hits a screamer that finds the net. Beautiful.
Not sure if a Premier League keeper might have done better reacting to that shot, but it was very nice nonetheless.
You gotta love a stadium where someone can watch from their kitchen/living room/somewhere inside their house!
If Bamford can't look dangerous at this level, what hope does he have in the Prem? Sinisterra off the post. Keeper had a deflection. Actually, the keeper has made a couple of nice plays.
Ref is not courageous. Bamford was fouled in the penalty box, but ref doesn’t call it. I think the ref didn’t call it because this game doesn’t have VAR so he’s afraid to make a big decision. crappy finishing is why Leeds only have one goal so far. They really should have 3 by now
One of their strongest lineups. But are the looking "strong"? Eh... Bamford appears to be able to do nothing significant except get himself tangled with another player, hit the ground, and hope to get a foul. I hate to pick on one guy, but I think he's the one whose clock is ticking and he's doing himself no favors. Of course they are missing TA. But that's life. A really crucial match is coming up.
Although Leeds’ defense has been better lately, I have to laugh that the commentator feels that second goal is “game, set, and match” (his words). Now that Leeds have a third goal, his statement is on firmer footing.
Not sure anyone else would call Leeds a “premier league giant”. Comical Leeds defending. Woot, Leeds moving on to the next round! I hope they draw another minnow…
Yeah, I heard that as well. I guess a team that has beaten both Liverpool and Chelsea in the Premier League this season is a giant in the eyes of a minnow. Not to mention Leeds' rather distant history as one of the top dogs (now that I think about it, even those victories vs. Liverpool and Chelsea seem rather distant).
I really hate to take away from the glory of Leeds beating Chelsea and Liverpool in the same season, but both those teams aren’t what they usually are. It almost seems “easy” for a lower table team to beat Chelsea/Liverpool this year.
