Do you want to outwork your opponent? Get Brendan on the field. Want to outscore your opponent? Let him combine with someone who has that killer instinct in front of goal that he lacks. BA is not Leeds' problem. He's a complementary piece, not Eden Hazard.
Would the mods please sticky these last two posts at the top of every page in the ... Leeds Fans Forums.
People love a player like Aaronson when the team is winning, but his lack of productivity combined with his ability to be everywhere makes him a lightning rod when the team is losing.
They paid $30 million for a $10 million player and it stings. Unfortunately they're blaming the player.
Same transfer price as Daniel James and nearly half the salary. Dan does look more the part but are the numbers really there?
Aaronson!?!? Some kid of fancy Dan name that and didn't 'e come from Continent? Played in Champions League 'n all! Why can't 'e be wat we need 'sted 'o bein' wat 'e is?!?
Aaronson on the bench at Manchester City. Obviously as a direct result of that decision, City scores the opener after 58 seconds.
So Gnonto gets to start over Aaronson. does that mean if they sub Gnonto off Aaronson will be his replacement?
Apparently not. James and Gnonto off at halftime, replaced by DCL and a centerback. Farke seems like he’s flailing a bit.
I find it interesting how Aaronson can start most of the games, but when Manchester United is up, he may not even get 10 minutes.
Is the subtitle "one of these players was the largest transfer in club history at the time it was made"?
Pleased to see that Aaronson entered just after City scored the winner (rather than just before). #Blameless!
It also didn’t hurt that guys who people have been calling to replace BA got yanked at halftime. And the team did better in the second half.
It actually does hurt, I think. The team was better without using Aaronson’s role, which is a much bigger problem for him long-term. Might help with the US though, if he can show out in that inside forward position.
Maybe - but you don’t think he’ll start with 2 strikers do you? Hard to take too much away from this game probably unless it suits my narrative…
Team was better in this one game but it was at Man City, so the players probably raised their game while City were probably a bit tentative, coming after two tough defeats. You can't tell anything from a sample of one.
Their next matches are against Chelsea and Liverpool, so if the formation switch worked well enough to pull back 2 goals against City, there’s a pretty good chance they roll with it for those matches from the start.
Yeah, I think we're taking things one match at a time now, especially as this is a three-match "English week,' with matches Saturday (City), Wednesday (Arsenal), Saturday (Liverpool). Farke would be insane not to rotate/re-align for every match.
