Arsenal just grinding down Leeds, though Leeds were always going to need some luck to get a result in this match. Brenden looks confident on the ball but the few occasions he found some space to attack he was typically outnumbered 2v4.
Leeds with some decent possession this half but no real chances created. Arsenal get a chance off a cross and bury it game over 0-3. Aaronson subbed off after the goal as well. Nothing of note from him today. Arsenal are just the far superior team.
Aaronson starts against Forest in the "stay ahead of 18th place West Ham as long as possible" derby. Scoreless through 15 minutes.
Bogle puts leeds up 1-0. Forest lets Gruev dribble near midfield wide open while holding a high line, so Gruev plays one behind the whole D for Bogle to run onto and finish. The defenders didn't come close to challenging Bogle in a mystifying decision - trying to pull the offside trap way after the pass was made, or something like that. Big oops.
Farke on his way to manager of the season with this turnaround. Really nice pass by Aaronson to create the initial shot that led to goal #2.
2-0 Leeds as Okafor calmly converts a rebound. Aaronson receives back to goal in the box, and plays a great ball to Justin. Justin's shot saved, but the rebound found Okafor's strike zone.
Not that it matters much but the rebound came back to Justin who got the assist. Aaronson's pass was a thing of beauty and was deserving of an assist.
Aaronson with a hockey assist of sorts on that second goal. Shielded the ball nicely in the box and slips Justin on goal with a lovely side foot through ball. The angle is a bit tight, and the shot is saved. Rebound comes back to Justin who finds Okafor at the spot, and he slots it home. Aaronson’s pass opened up the defense.
If this sticks Leeds will have the same number of points after 25 games as Manchester United in 24/25.
Aaronson wearing a different uniform than the team because he's been rolling around in the mud so much so far. I used to think the 11 was a decoy to get teams to cover him but he's definitely been playing great of late.
No let up in sight. 3-0 a few minutes in as Calvert Lewin chests home a cross after a NF turnover. Aaronson not involved.
Aaronson fouled quite obviously at the top of the box but inexplicably no call. Not sure what the ref was doing there.
3-1 final that moves them 9 clear of relegation. Aaronson was a menace and Leeds's performance dropped pretty significantly once he came off. Tough road ahead in the league: Chelsea (A), Villa (A), City (H).
