I'm not used to seeing him take his time in the box and picking the right shot - he deliberately lifted the shot to put it in the goal. Great composure. The lead up was also sweet.
That’s what…..2 goals and an assist on fhe season?? Is this dude trying to win over the grumpy, angry Leeds supporters? Jeez. Dangerous.
with this particular team, I'd say aaronson is better as a .forward. Otherwise, he needs to get the ball off his feet faster (when he is not in the box).
Really fast start, would be wild if he blew the doors off with a 20 or 25 goal contribution season, but, it is the championship.
Yeah only problem is I remember him having a great start to the premier league a couple of years ago, scoring against Chelsea and looking good at the start before eventually fading away. I hope he keeps it up this time....
Aaronson working hard in the press and lively. I feel like Gnoto is playing too much in the middle not allowing much movement on the right.
The idea was Gnonto to use his ball handling skills as 10 but Farke prob already knew Gnonto doesn't have the legs for it so he designed a system where Aaronson and Gnonto spell each other at the 10.
Leeds up 1-0 on Cardiff and dominating possession after Cardiff guy got a dogso red card. Aaronson playing well. The new guy they got very late in window is pretty good (Razmani sp?) and should add a lot of goals - he got the FH goal today. Between Joseph, Razmani and Aaronson, there's a lot of promise in the Leeds squad. Those 3 are good enough for Prem if Leeds go up, albeit young/inexperienced.
Brenden's assist on Piroe's goal. Looks simple but I like everything about it. https://youtube.com/shorts/AeCwIROPIUk?si=jNe5F8uG5BwpR2f9
Great hockey assist by Brenden from his classic 10 position in 4231 set up. He plays and easy pass well to fb Firpo who is able to one touch it to winger Gnonto in the box for the 1 touch goal Leeds up 1-0 on Coventry 16'
60' Haji Wright comes on for coventry down 0-2. Aaronson still on but wonder if it makes sense to sub him out around 70' with big game coming up v. Norwich on Tues on not much rest.
Got to see a little of Tanaka v. Coventry when Ampudu took a knock. He looks really good. He must be in mind for Prem should Leeds get promoted. From Wiki (Tanaka) played his first match in the AFC qualification tournament for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on 12 October 2021, where he scored his first international goal in a 2–1 home win against Australia.[10][11] On 1 November 2022, Tanaka was included in Japan's 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.[12] On 1 December, he scored the winning goal in a 2–1 victory over Spain, which qualified his national team to the knockout stage as top of their group mntime, Leeds win 3-0 over Coventry. With 7 played, they are tied with Burnley at 14 points and sit 2 points behind league leaders WestBrom.
Fun fact: After giving up 3 goals to Portsmouth on Matrch Day 1, Leeds have given up only 1 goal in their next 6 games. That goal was scored by......Koleosho (Burnley).
Aaronson putting the work rate in again vs Sunderland. Put in a good ball across the box only real highlight for him in the first half. the championship in their infinite wisdom schedules Leeds for a Friday match after playing on Tuesday. Lively game so far.
Nice look for Aaronson in stoppage time from the top of the box - probably aims at the wrong corner and has it blocked well by Mepham, out for a corner. Leading 2-1 very late.
Meslier blows an incredibly easy save and blames the bounce off of the grass in the 7th minute of 6 minutes of stoppage. He almost pulls his hands out of the way of the ball. Truly awful goalkeeping. All of Sunderland laughing at him. 2-2 and Leeds blow the three points.
I thought BA was excellent in the second half. He was composed on the ball - did some twinkle toe dribbling on the touchline and a great chance where he brought the ball down and created space and flubbed the shot. Another time in the box showed nice composure to great space to get off decent cross. Leeds was under constant pressure so his little moments helped reduce that.
