The record reports that Tottenham is offering Helder Postiga to Benfica on either a loan or straight out buy. Once again my Portuguese is bad so if someone can translate that would be great.
Basically what Tottenham want is to loan Helder Postiga for the upcoming season and then Benfica would have the option to buy the player the following season. I think Benfica should jump on this chance, especially because who knows if Sokota is staying. Postiga has loads of talent and is young, i would welcome him as an addition to next years team.
even with Sokota we still one striker down, we never replace Feher, so Postiga, Sokota and Nuno Gomes will be a nice trio
by the way today's scrimmage, Postiga scored 2 goals by the way, today's game Pauleta scored 3 for the winning team, Postiga scored 2 for the losing team final score 3-2 Euro 2004 Pauleta estreia-se com «hat-trick» Pauleta participou pela primeira vez no treino de conjunto da Selecção, agora na Academia do Sporting, em Alcochete, tendo «facturado» três golos, enquanto Hélder Postiga apontou dois pelos não titulares (3-2).
Who knows what Mantorras can provide next year. Even at 80% of what he was once capable of, he can help Benfica.
Tottenham are denying the reports. If Benfica were to buy Helder Postiga, they would also have to pay porto.
Postiga salary is over 150 thousand dollars a month, Benfica offer over 75 thousand dollars a month http://www.record.pt/noticia.asp?id=498568&idCanal=11
i wouldn't look for postiga to move right now. spurs have just signed jacques santini, the french national coach, to manage the side after euro04. santini was never apparently to keen on (spurs' striker) freddie kanoute, and never gave him a call up for the france side. rumors have it that we may shop kanoute around, which would make it far less likely that we would move postiga, as well. not that i have any particular insight into the situation, but i think there's a general feeling about that santini's arrival might be good for postiga at tottenham.
