Perhaps a mod should rename this thread "Flag and Hockey Talk" so that I can remember not to look in here if I want any breaking news from Austria...

    :D :p

Hey guys, good game yesterday, just been at training. Can someone please decide what is going to happen to the banner after here please. I can#t get on my hotmail so can someone please PM either Bighorn, Catfish, Dave P or someone else who has my mobile and send a text to me so we know whether Bob is bringing it back, or the flag is going to a couple of Champions League games before the Roadtrip.

    Cheers,

    Rick

    Suggestion for flag design:

Basic flag of St George with ARSENAL through centre bar. It is an English club after all.

State Flag, Cannon, National Flag, 30's crest.

Canada´s a lot more real than the theocracy to the south of it.
Strange, only it´s citizens came to Austria to watch and and meet with the team.
Mr Dein was asked when we met him yesterday whether a visit to fortress USA was ever thought of and we were told it would be too expensive and not the way Arsene wanted to prepare for a season. :)

That has always been Arsene's thoughts too CG-not new news there-don't expect to see the Arsenal in a summer tour of the USA was the exact response I think! ;)

hope this isn't going to turn into a pissing festival regarding which country has this while the other doesn't have that. There are good and bad things about each one, just like every other country.

    Agreed! Funny story...

I was in Montreal on a business trip several winters ago (-45F WTF?!?!), when a bunch of us went to Hurley's Irish pub. On the first floor was traditional Irish music, which I learned how to stepdance to (badly) from one of the girls I was working with. There were about 25 of us from the office, and we all got VERY drunk. So, drunk as skunks, we headed upstairs, because a U2 cover band was about to play. So, all night, I'm singing along in the back of the room while they played. At one point, "Bono" calls me up on stage, and wants me to take over lead vocals. My friends convince him to have me sing "Party Girl" with them, because it's one of the few I don't know by heart. Well, I must have been doing more yelling than singing, because I had no voice for the next two days!!!!

This was significant, because when we were at the mall the following day, I went to McDonalds for lunch. Now, here I am, with my little bit of French from high school, but I can't even get the words out because of my voice. So, when I ordered fries, the girl gave me poutine. At first, I was like, "What the hell, I'll try anything once." Well, that's the only time I'll try it. The one food item I really did like in Montreal was the smoked meat sandwiches. Fantastic!

Yeah, Coach hooked me up. Someone started using arsenalfan over on ArsenalAmerica, where I go simply by "MikeK", so I figured, I'd change my name here to eliminate confusion. I joked with Coach about going to "President Mike" but thought better of it. :D

I get the poutine from McDonald's everytime I go up to Montreal as well...it's not half bad actually. Also if you ever drive up there, there are plenty of roadside cafes just on the other side of the border who'll serve a hearty dish of poutine with bacon.

Well....Sol was training yesterday and has flown home today.
Since we don't anticipate any other signings, I'd say it's not about that.

I assume that Sol has been been sold.

I thought it might be an injury as well, but that really wouldn't require a presser.

Well, remember when we signed Sol? Everyone thought the press conference was about a completely different player, and then here comes Arsene strolling down the path with Sol? Man that was funny as hell. It'd be nice if something like that were to happen again.

I guess we just need to wait and see.
The tone of the text messages I got were not positive at all.

If Sol is leaving....we're becoming frighteningly thin on the defensive side of things.

Like Bighorn was saying, if he's hurt, that wouldn't really be a reason to hold a press conference. Either someone's been sold (most likely Sol) or we've bought someone (which would be fricken awesome, not to mention about time.)

Like it's been mentioned before, an injury doesn't warrant a press conference. It's got to be player movment.

P.S. stop reading my mind Mike :D

Well, Phil is so much better than even just a year ago. We've got Ash tied up for at least the year and by all accounts it looks as if they are trying to change the tone of things to make 'im 'appy. Kolo and Eboue are more than servicable.
Cygan..say no more. Maybe Hoyte has been impressive?

    I'm not worried...

    ...yet.
