Some serious discussion here. What will the Breakers be able to put on the field this coming Saturday?

How bad is Aldama's injury (injured in practice last Friday in NC)?

Meinert's knee got tweaked in the game last Saturday. How's that recovering?

Four players called up by Heinrichs. Will she release any back to us?

The Breakers may redefine the term "supplemental signing". :(

I have a feeling that Lilly and Sobrero will be released to us...but i'm not so sure about Hucles and Kluegel.

I can't wait for this game!! My first game with season tickets :) Who else is going?

Well, Pia used the same exact plan last year when the Charge played Carolina and Benson and Mitts were called up.

She used Iverson on Prinz and Alfiler on Fotopolous and Tietjen sweeping.

Pia is NOT ever afraid to make tactical changes, and she can get the best out of players.

I would suspect Kelly Smith plays a sub role again, like the 30 minutes she did against San Jose.

And I see Pia wanting to isolate Mellgren on McVeigh, given the relative inexperience of McVeigh.

Boston has enough offensive weapons to control the match on that side of the field, and I think you'll see the Charge be willing to play counter game with Pichon and Arrington, until Smith is brought onto the pitch.

Why do I find myself saying, "Who?", when I read the names in the Charge injured list. ;)

The Breakers definitely get shafted deeply if the USWNT keeps all four. I agree with #1AKF. It makes sense for Sobrero and Lilly to be released because they are both known quantities. I'd also suggest releasing Kluegel because she has a "snowball's chance" of making the trip to China. Hucles has convinced me, but still has to make a case for herself with Heinrichs.

Maybe Nigeria won't show and we get all four back. :)

    Breakers home in
Wallis, Popper, O'Grady, and Hawkins. That's 5 if you count Stéphanie Mugneret-Béghé as a rookie. ;)

Good stuff, Tony. But no audio of Pia singing? ;)

A beautiful day for footie. My Scottish friends would describe the forecast as "balmy". :)

Funny you should mention Scottish weather. I leave next week for a 2 week visit. I hope it's a little nicer than that, at least some of the time. Otherwise, I'll have to spend most of the time in a pub, by the fire, sipping the local brew or spirit. ;)
