@celito Take a look at this:
    https://www.gazetaesportiva.com/tim...et-nao-passou-pelo-compliance-do-corinthians/

"A Gazeta Esportiva apurou que o contrato do Corinthians com a VaideBet não passou pelo sistema de compliance que fora implantado no clube no segundo semestre de 2021."

The contract was reviewed by the legal department, but apparently they didn't use this compliance system they've had in place since 2021 and that the renewed until mid-2024. They say the contract guards them against any problems... I wonder how tight it is though and what good it will do them if the company turns out not to be able to pay one day.

These values are stated in the article: "A VaideBet é uma empresa considerada nova no mercado. Ela passou a operar no fim de 2022, com capital inicial declarado de R$ 300 mil e está cadastrada com porte de micro empresa.

A empresa está sediada em Curaçao, mas o investimento tem origem em Campina Grande, na Paraíba. O empresário José André da Rocha Neto é o dono da VaideBet. Ele que tem mais de 30 empresas vinculadas ao seu nome e a razão social das empresas soma R$ 19,3 milhões."

The sponsorship is for 370 million...

I wonder if the sponsorship has the potential for R$370m but it's predicated on Corinthians fans signing up and spending money instead of it being fixed money sponsorship. Much like I think BMG did it in the past. Not sure how they would track fans signing up and spending money though. That's what Leila was referring to in her press conf that she didn't want a sponsor that is more like a partner with variable pay based on clients signing up. The sponsorship hasn't been announced being structured that way. So perhaps they are just expecting the exposure will give them that much growth. But if it doesn't work, they are based out of the country. So I'd like to see Corinthians trying to claim the contract. Good luck with that. I haven't followed it in detail but didn't that Blaze betting house screw people out of money ?

Remember that a couple of years ago was burnt by some agro company that sponsored Paulinho's signing. Corinthians got stuck paying the bill. Sketchy deal.

With Atletico-MG optimistic about getting Luis Henrique, there are a number of offensive additions that might make this season even more exciting than last. Of course, there's no Suarez out there now, but I would expect multiple teams to contend.

Of course... I think that, but what do I know, that's probably when Flamengo and Palmeiras will actually take off and leave everyone behind, but we'll see.

Looks like Flamengo wrapped up the Mathias Viña deal today with Roma.

On the other hand, reportedly the negotiation with Bragantino for Leo Ortiz has not advanced and won't happen. We'll see if Flamengo tries to come back to it this transfer window or if they go after someone else.

Douglas Costa is the latest Fluminense signing. Another gamble on an older and injury prone player. I wonder if the idea is that at least one of them has to have a good year... or if they just want every youngster on the team to have a mentor?

Corinthians have had a few stumbles this week...

Apparently they never wrapped up the contract with Lucas Verissimo, who ended up signing with with a club in Qatar and is now gone.

Then the news that apparently Corinthians, not the new sponsor, are responsible for paying the fee to rescind the contract with current sponsors.

And today, despite training with Corinthians, Matheuzinho is heading back to Flamengo. That signing was also never wrapped up as Flamengo wanted him back after the loan, but Corinthians wanted to be able to buy him.

Corinthians' administration not looking great right now...

After new signing Bruno Rodrigues picked up a serious knee injury during the 2nd game of the season (out 4-6 months), Palmeiras are seemingly trying to now sign Diego Costa given this injury leaves the attack thin since Arthur has left and Dudu is still out until mid year. There was a rumor midweek Abel had no interest but if the rumors are true, he may have done a 180. This would go against the club's recent policy of not signing veteran players.

On another note, after Abel again spent 5 mins in the Santos post match press conf. criticizing the state of the Allianz pitch saying something needs to be done immediately. A few mins after the press conf. the club announced that no games will be played in the stadium until the proper maintenance / replacement is done. The problem is that maintenance is supposed to be done by WTorre and apparently they are being negligent (and there is a legal battle going on which includes other issues). The pitch was supposed to last for 10 years but given the frequency the pitch is used along with the constant concerts hosted at the stadium plus heat / pollution in São Paulo, the pitch has only lasted a little over 3 years creating a problem for the club.

That didn’t last . Supposedly Abel wouldn’t mind having Diego Costa but Leila and Barros vetoed the signing

Corinthians are already considering firing Mano Menezes after the latest defeat . The past administration gave him a contract until the end of 2025 only a few months before elections. His buyout clause is equal to being paid in full until the end of 2024. It’s worth noting that the past administration and Mano are buddy buddies .

The European transfer window closes on Thursday. No big rumors of Brazilian transfers to Europe right now.

Our window remains open through March.

Botafogo are signing Luiz Henrique from Real Betis. But he will most likely only stay till midseason (or at most till the end of the season) as Textor's goal is to move him to Lyon.

Technically the biggest purchase of any Brazilian club, though like you said, it's also an eventual move to Lyon.

With the end of the European window today, here's a rundown of Brazilians among the highest transfer fees in this window:
    https://www.uol.com.br/esporte/fute...erencias-mais-caras-de-janeiro-veja-lista.htm

As far as transfers to Brazil De La Cruz is on the list and Luiz Henrique would be too.

No big news last-minute moves, but there were still a lot, including Vitor Roque, Moscardo and Beraldo, Marcos Leonardo. Renan Lodi went to the Saudi league. Kevin and Artur from Palmeiras were among the top 20.

Back to current moves in Brazil: Corinthians was trying to re-ignite the Matheuzinho deal, but it looks like Flamengo have decided not to do it. Corinthians also wanted Pablo, from Flamengo. Not sure if that deal will also be closed down now or if that one stays alive. EDIT: Just saw a tweet from Vene Casagrande. Looks like Pablo is on his way to Botafogo, on loan.

Well, the biggest surprise of the transfer window so far, to me anyways, is that André did not move.

After the Liverpool links died down, because he wasn't going to move in the middle of the season, there was still the link to Fulham, but nothing came of that.

I guess we'll wait until mid-year now to see where he might end up. Will be interesting to see if Dorival calls him up and if he plays Copa América.

Palmeiras sign Lazaro from Almeria on loan until December with an option to buy for ~$13m. It's mainly a stop gap signing given the injuries in the roster.

Thoughts on him @Ombak ? I know he had some potential but IIRC his production wasn't all that.

I think he's a good loan move for Palmeiras. I think he still has potential, at 22, to be a good Brasileirão starter.

I think he was part of Ramon Menezes' options for the Pre-Olympic squad. It's just speculation on my part, but I think he wasn't called because Almeria wouldn't release him. He was on Ramon's squad for the friendly against Morocco last year (U23 friendly, not the full one in the beginning of the year).

Corinthians are supposedly already getting rid of Mano Menezes. News is that they are already signed up Marcio Zanardi.

Palmeiras are trying to get midfielder Rômulo from Novorizontino and Wilian Jose from Real Betis.

Márcio Zanardi will not be Corinthians manager because according to the Paulistão rules, he can't coach another team in the competition until it ends. Apparently the Corinthians front office were not aware of the rules. Corinthians really outdoing themselves over and over.

Apparently Flamengo may finally sell Matheuzinho to Corinthians after all. It looks like Flamengo wants them to agree to a fine if they are late on payments. Not surprising they see Corinthians as a risk with all this financial drama and poor decision making.

The Matheuzinho (now Matheus França) move to Corinthians finally happened. They also announced Igor Coronado and Pedro Henrique.

Grêmio signed Pavón, formerly with Atlético-MG. They are definitely a solid squad, and despite losing Suárez, I think they will be aiming for top 4 again with the addition of Diego Costa and others and some decent youth.

The transfer window in Brazil ends on March 7, that's Thursday this week. The next one is from July 10 to September 2, so it doesn't start until Copa América is basically over.

    Flamengo finally gets Leo Ortiz:
    https://ge.globo.com/futebol/times/...e-assina-com-flamengo-na-proxima-semana.ghtml

I still think they need a midfielder for the Copa America period. Pulgar, De La Cruz and de Arrascaeta probably all will be at Copa America, maybe even Gerson.

Cuca is thew new coach at Athletico Paranaense. His case in Switzerland was annulled since he tried to get it resolved and apparently the accuser has already passed away. Still gonna be interesting to see how opposing fans react during matches.

The transfer window closes in a few hours.

Thiago Maia finally secured his move to Inter, from Flamengo. The biggest obstacle had been the division of funds between Flamengo and Lille, who still holds a portion of the player's rights.

Transfers can still happen through April in certain circumstances, but the big deadline is today.

Inter also got Fernando for the midfield and there are probably a number of other deals out there today still looking to wrap up.
